Thursday dingers with a smaller than usual MLB slate. I've got two guys I'm locked in on, both in the same game.
Let's jump straight into tonight's best hitters.

Today's Dingers
Wilson Contreras Home Run (+390) | Lucky Rebel
Ryan Johnson will take the mound for the Angels tonight at Angel Stadium and the 23-year old righty has been struggling this year. Johnson's got 4 starts under belt this year, he's got 24.1 innings and he's got a 7.40 ERA.
Johnson's allowing hitters to hit .280 against him this year and that balloons to .318 against righties. He's giving up 2.2 HR/9 this year and right handed bats have a 45% HH rate when facing Johnson this year.
Johnson's also almost exclusively using a combo of his sinker/cutter against right handed bats and both are pitches Contreras absolutely destroys. Contreras is batting .292 on the year with a .547 SLG and 465 HH.
Against right handed pitchers he's hitting .298 with 13 of his 19 home runs coming against righties. Specifically against both sinkers/cutters, Contreras is hitting north of .350 with a 48% HH and 8 of his 19 home runs have been against sinkers.
Shohei Ohtani Home Run (+240) | Lucky Rebel
After a night, Ohtani's back in the lineup and leading off against a familiar face; J.P. Sears. Sears has played just two games this year, but he's given up 13 total hits and 4 home runs. He's got a 6.97 ERA this year and just gave up 3 home runs in his last start.
Ohtani's 4/8 against Sears in his career. He's got a .750 SLG and a 63% HH; but somehow he still doesn't have a home run off Sears.
Ohtani's struggled a bit against lefties this year, hitting just .258 against left handed pitchers with a 41% HH. He's got 6 home runs against lefties this year but compared to last year, he's really struggled.
Sears has faced just 12 lefties this year, but he's giving up a 60% HH on the small sample size. Sears also struggled against lefties last year, allowing them to hit .289 with 4 home runs and a .511 SLG.
Lastly, today is Ohtani's 32nd Birthday. What better way to celebrate your birthday than to send one long and over the fence in front of the home crowd.
