It's a beautiful Saturday in the middle of July and we've got a huge slate of MLB games to have some fun with. I've got two big time hitters locked in for tonight, so let's jump right into it.
The cheat sheet makes it a lot easier when I run through the stats I'm looking at and as always, hit me up on X if you've got more questions.
Hunter Goodman's been great for the Rockies this year and somehow he's been even better when playing outside of Coors Field. Goodman's batting .284 on the road this year, he's hit 18 of his 31 home runs on the road and his SLG jumps to .567 outside of Colorado.
Tonight the Rockies are in Milwaukee to take on the red hot Brewers and it'll be Robert Gasser on the mound. Gasser's got a 4.91 ERA this year and he's allowing 1.9 HR/9. He's given up 11 total home runs this season and 9 have been against right handed bats.
Goodman's batting .286 against lefties this year and he's got 8 home runs to show for it. His HH jumps to 50% and his BRL to 21%. Gasser's pitch mix against righties relies heavily on his 4-seam fastball and his sinker; both pitches Goodman absolutely crushes.
Esmerlyn Valdez is just a rookie, but he's been absolutely crushing the ball. In just 35 games this year, the kid's hit 13 home runs, he's batting .282 and he's got a .692 SLG. Now when you look at his numbers against lefties, they don't look real.
Valdez is batting .333 against lefties this year, with a .976 SLG. His HH jumps to 68% against left handed pitchers and his BRL jumps to 36%. It's an incredibly small sample size, but I just can't ignore the numbers.
The Pirates will go up against Shota Imanaga tonight for the Cubs. Imanaga's given up 7 total home runs in his last four road starts and tonight's conditions look perfect for some more big hits.

I’ve been betting on the NBA/NCAAB/NFL/MLB for six years now, each year gaining more and more knowledge about being a profitable handicapper. I’m eager to learn, and eager to pass on everything I’ve gained over the last few years. I started my Twitter page four years ago, and this community makes me so thankful I did. Outside of sports and handicapping, I enjoy traveling, hoopin, a strong espresso and I’m currently studying to obtain my MD. I’m all about the vibes, good vibes only.
