Birthplace of Mozart, the setting for one of the most iconic films of all time, The Sound of Music, and, most importantly, where the Apple Strudel was created, the Formula 1 Paddock heads to Austria this weekend. It is home to some of the most iconic and controversial moments in F1. Like Niki Lauda's miraculous win in 1984 or the infamous Ferrari team call in 2001.
In my opinion, this track is the perfect race to introduce someone to the sport of Formula 1. The Red Bull Ring track offers plenty of excitement with its copious amounts of overtaking opportunities, fast straights, and breathtaking views of the Austrian mountains as a background.

Austrian Grand Prix Race Preview & Analysis

This track was built to test the limits of the car, but overall it is not the most technical track we have in the calendar. The track itself offers many passing opportunities after the long straights but that also opens itself up to costly mistakes. Being in the mountains this track has more elevation and declines than we are used to making breaking that much more difficult.
The keys to winning this race are having great straight-line speed, being on time with your braking, and making sure your tires have grip while flying up, down, and around this track. Another key factor that may not be thought of is making sure your engine isn't overheating, with the elevation comes thinner air, and that causes the efficiency of cooling to decrease.
Free Practice & Qualifying Breakdown
In free practice, we saw that kid again, Kimi Antonelli, had a fantastic set of practice sessions. We also saw Lewis Hamilton perform very well in the sessions. I also want to highlight Pierre Gasly who was hanging around the top 10 for all the practice sessions.
In qualifying we saw a lot of late drama. Max Verstappen crashes in the final 30 seconds, ending his session. The crash also ruined Pole position bids for Kimi Antonelli and Charles Leclerc. Meanwhile George Russell in his bid to fight for a championship managed to sneak into Pole position.

Austrian Grand Prix Predictions & Best Bets
Race Winner: Lewis Hamilton +600 on Lucky Rebel
Coming off his first win in a Ferrari car, Lewis has seemingly been refreshed over the last few races and honestly all season. He is 1 of 2 drivers that have scored points in every single race this year. I believe he has the pace and obviously the experience to get past his teammate and into P2 and after that all he has to do is hunt down his former teammate George Russell.
The Ferrari car has been slowly but surely catching up to the Mercedes, and all it could take is one simple mistake by George and Lewis could claim victory in back to back races for the first time since 2021.
Under 16.5 Total Classified Drivers +162 on Lucky rebel

Over the last 3 races we have had an average of 7 drivers throughout the race. That number is astonishing as we only usually see 3-4 retirements through these stretch of races. My thought process is that due to 2 race cancelations this year the teams are about 2-4 weeks behind on their racing data then where they usually are meaning most teams are coming in under prepared for these races.
Some track contributing factors for Austria are the pure speed of the track and how important being on time with your braking is to maintain grip on the track. One factor I want to point out is the elevation of the Red Bull Ring, being up in the mountains the air is thinner meaning the cooling process for the engines will be hindered and may cause overheating issues for some teams. \
Total Virtual Safety Cars O1.5 +165 on Lucky Rebel
To back pack off the previous bet we took this bet should be very much in play with all the combining factors of the race, team preparation and driver skill I really like for this bet to hit. A virtual safety car is always the first option for the stewards to deploy when a mishap occurs on the track, as it allows for a bit more freedom to the racers compared to an actual safety car while still maintaining control and safety over the race.
Aston Martin Total Classified Drivers U0.5 +150
Listen we talked about it last race weekend and I will continue to do so until this Aston Martin car actually impresses me… I won't hold my breath for that. This car is just all around bad and the drivers constantly complain of it being undriveable as well as constant mechanical failures. Through 6 races this year Aston Martin have only had both care finish a race once at the Miami GP. In 3 races they have only had 1 finisher.
