We have a good matchup in the desert tonight. The Golden State Valkyries head to Sin City to take on the Las Vegas Aces. These two teams met a month ago and the Valkyries took that game by 27 points.
Golden State has taken the league by storm. In their first season, they're 10-9 to start and are 8th in the league. The Valkyries are currently 6-4 in their last ten games and only 3-6 on the road this season.
Forward Kayla Thornton has led this team so far. She's averaging 15 points and 7 rebounds per game. Tiffany Hayes has emerged as a player for this team with an average of 13 points and 4 rebounds per game.
The Valkyries are a good defensive team as well. They rank second in defensive rating, first in rebounds and sixth in steals. Protecting the ball better is definitely something they need to work on as they rank tenth in the league for turnovers.
Vegas looks to snap two game losing streak today at home

Aces guard Jackie Young goes to make a move to the basket defended by Valkyries guard Veronica Burton.
Las Vegas is 9-11 so far this season and 10th in the league to most people's surprise. It's been a rough start, and they come into this game on a two-game skid. The Aces are 4-6 in their last 10 games and 5-4 at home this season.
A'ja Wilson is questionable for this game with a wrist injury. She is averaging 21 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, so the team will obviously be hurting without her. They will look for guards Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray to step up in her absence.
Kiah Stokes will also be looked upon for help down low on defense and grabbing rebounds. She's averaging 5.7 rebounds per game so far, so she could go for 10 without Wilson. Guard Jewell Loyd continues to be consistent but could be a huge help if her shot is on.
Going to be an interesting matchup, especially waiting to find out about Wilson. Either way, I have some thoughts on the game. Let's check out the odds and get into the Valkyries vs. Aces picks.

This Golden State team is really good. They play lock down defense and have a relatively deep bench who all contribute. With the possibility of A'ja Wilson not playing, the spread at -2 could be a steal if she doesn't play.
The Valkyries absolutely smoked the Aces in that first game, and they were at fully strength. If they can play that lock down defense that they are so good at, then the Aces are in deep trouble. The depth of this Golden State team is what carries them on offense.
For the Vals to have a chance, they'll need another monster game from Kayla Thornton. She had 22 points and 11 rebounds last time, so we're taking her for 22 or more PR for -114. Thornton smashed this line last game with just her points. She has also hit her mark in her last two out of three games.
On the other side of things, I like Chelsea Gray to get 9 or more assists and rebounds for -154. I know it's juicy, but she could hit this line in the first half if there is no Wilson. If Wilson plays, it will only take away extra rebounding chances, which she'll have anyways.
