It's the fifth game of the season and we have just one game on the slate. The Toronto Tempo will visit the Phoenix Mercury at Mortgage Matchup Center. Both teams are off to similar starts to the season and will look for their third win tonight.

Phoenix is 2-2 to start the season and are tied for fourth in the West. They come into this game off a win over the Sky on Friday by a score of 91-83. The Mercury have split their first four game in half for home and road wins.

Even though they parted ways with Satou Sabally this off season, they look decent. Forward Alyssa Thomas is back at it averaging almost a triple double. Her other half, DeWanna Bonner, finds herself in a starting role now. She's averaging 10.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Rookie guard Jovana Nogic has been off to a hot start. She's averaging 16 points per game to start, including a 27-point performance last game. Nogic is a great compliment to fellow guard Kahleah Copper. Copper leads the team in scoring with 18 points per game.

Toronto getting people's attention early is a good sign

The Tempo are 2-2 as well this season and tied for fourth in the West. They come into this game off a win over the Sparks on Sunday by 10-points. Toronto has split their four games on the road and at home.

Being an expansion team, they were just put together so extremely new. Notable players include Guards Marina Mabrey and Brittney Sykes. Mabrey came from the Connecticut Sun and Skyes came from the Washington Mystics.

Sykes is ballin' right now, averaging 24 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game. Mabrey is averaging 19 points per game, but they both are only shooting 36% from the field. Improvement their will continue the team's success.

Both teams' match up well against each other. We should see a good, back and forth game that remains close. With that being said, I'm taking the Tempo to cover the 7.5 points. They have covered this spread in both games they've lost this season.

If I had to take a lean, I think Phoenix most likely wins. They have the experience and physicality on their team that should be able to get the W. The Tempo are definitely going to give them a run for their money though, so we'll see.

Give me Brittney Sykes to hit her points line. She's coming off two huge games with 38 and 27 points in each game. Sykes is playing 30+ minutes per game and I think she continues her offensive dominance tonight.
