We have another three-game slate for this Saturday. We go to the Los Angeles Sparks taking on the Indiana Fever. These two teams last played at the beginning of the season, with the Fever winning by nine points.
Indiana is 10-8 this season and third in the Eastern Conference. They come into this game off a two-point loss to the Mercury on Wednesday. The Fever are 6-4 in their last ten games and 7-4 at home this year.

It has already been confirmed that guard Caitlin Clark will miss the game due to a back injury. This is obviously a huge piece of the team that will be missing. Clark is averaging 21.2 points, 8.2 assists and 4 rebounds per game this season.
The Fever will look for players like veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell and start center-forward Aliyah Boston to step up. Both these ladies have become better players from playing with Clark and the team will need that skill today vs. the Sparks.

Los Angeles will try to take advantage with no Caitlin Clark

Sparks guard Kelsey Plum takes the ball up court after the inbound pass.
The Sparks are 8-9 this year and are fifth in the Western Conference. They come into this game off a bad loss to the Tempo on Thursday. Los Angeles is 4-6 in their last ten games and 5-3 on the road this season.
It was a sad showing on Thursday as the Sparks allowed Marina Mabrey to drop a 53 piece on their heads. It was tied for the most points ever in a game in league history. Obviously, not a good look for LA as they dropped another game on the road.
Guard Kelsey Plum was off to a fire start this season where she had 25+ points in six of her first seven games this season but has since cooled off. She has only hit her points line once in her last five games and that game was a 43-point bomb. Plum will remain out a few weeks with her leg injury.
With Plum out, the Sparks will need a team effort. Even though the Tempo beat them up on Thursday, they did put up 97 points without her, and they'll need more of that tonight. Let's check out the odds and get into the Sparks vs. Fever picks.

Los Angeles Sparks vs. Indiana Fever Picks and Prediction

Los Angeles Sparks forward Dearica Hamby dribbles the ball with a defender on her.

The absence of Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Plum make this a whole different game. I feel like the Sparks can keep this game close. They need to continue the offense from the other night but have to step it up on defense.
At the least, I think the Sparks cover this spread. Dearica Hamby and Nneka Ogwumike will be all over Aliyah Boston, who she will be looked upon a lot. She's going to eat to an extent being the number two player, but if they can contain her then they have a good shot at covering.
I like for Dearica Hamby to get 8 or more rebounds for -140. She has cleared in her last four games and six out of her last seven games. Hamby is going to have to be heavily involved to keep this Sparks close in this game. I'd expect the same from Ogwumike as well.
