It's been a great start to the season, and we have two teams facing off that look great. The Chicago Sky will travel out west to take on the Golden State Valkyries. Both teams made some changes in the offseason and are different teams.
Chicago is 1-0 to start the season and the have some new players showing their worth. They beat the Portland Fire by fifteen points on Saturday to open their season. Big time performances came from the ones they needed it most.
Guard Skylar Diggins had 21 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists in her first game with the Sky. Forward Rickea Jackson, who also just came this off season, had 19 points and 7 rebounds. Then there was the returning center who had herself a day.
Center Kamilla Cardoso, the number three pick in the 2024 draft, is finally getting the stage. With forward Angel Reese gone, Cardoso is finally the focal point of this offense. She had 22 points and 14 rebounds in the season opener and it's just the beginning for her.

Golden State will look to make it three in a row tonight at home

Valkyries forward Kayla Thornton heads back on defense after scoring a basket.
The Valkyries have started the season 2-0. They come into this game off a win over the Mercury on Sunday. It was a very dominate win for Golden State and players shined. This team is all of a sudden stacked on offense.
Forward Janelle Salaun has led the way with scoring for the team, putting up 20+ points in each game. Kayla Thornton has wasted no time getting right back to business after her season was cut short from an injury last year.
Guard Veronica Burton is going off to start. She had 16 points in her first game and a double double in her second game. The addition of Gabby Williams just adds to all this talent. She finally came to form in their last game with 19 points. This team has the potential to be dangerous this year.

Both teams were firing on all cylinders in their first games. I think we see more of it in this game and going to take the over 167 or more points. Both teams have put up over 90+ points in their three combined games so far.
I lean with the Sky to win this game. Something tells me they become a sneaky team this year, especially once DiJonai Carrington and Azura Stevens. Both ladies were brought in this offseason during their quick rebuild and will have serious impact.
I can't not go with Kamilla Cardoso to get over her rebounds. The line should come out around 12 rebounds, and she just had 14 in her first game. There will be some height against her this game, but I think Cardoso is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
