WNBA Playoffs: New York Liberty vs Connecticut Suns Game 3 Prediction, Odds & Best Bets

We head to Connecticut for Game 3 of the New York Liberty vs the Connecticut Sun. The Liberty came out with a huge Game 2 win and tied the series at 1 game each. It was Stew York night for Game 2 as the new WNBA League MVP was awarded to New York's Brenna Stewart.

New York unexpectedly dropped Game 1 at home by 15 points! Connecticut came prepared and held them to only 63 points. The Liberty then got back on track for Game 2 and won by 7.

The Sun stole a very important game in New York. They now have home court advantage as 2 of the remaining 3 games will be played at the Mohegan Sun Area in Connecticut.

DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas have both played great basketball in the first 2 games of the series. Bonner has had has 19 and 20 points and 7 rebounds in each game. Thomas was up to her usual ways and almost has a triple double in each game.

Tiffany Hayes came out of nowhere in Game 2 with a 30-point performance. The Sun will need continued play from her and Rebecca Allen to continue to contend.

Although New York lost Game 1, they are a great road team. They went 17-3 on the road this season, losing less games on the road then at home. If any team is going to get one back, it's them.

The difference between Game 1 and Game 2 was everyone coming to play. Betnijah Laney had 20 points and Courtney Vandersloot had 19 points vs their 3 points and 7 points in Game 1.

New league MVP Breanna Stewart didn't shoot well in Game 2, so she will look to bounce back. She struggled from 3-point range in both games and will need to change that around to give the Liberty an extra step up.

Stewie still had 11 points and 11 rebounds. She wasn't the only one with a double-double, as Jonquel Jones had her 4th in a row. Now let's get into the lines and picks.

New York Liberty vs Connecticut Sun Prediction and Picks

Prediction and Pick: New York Liberty -3.5 (-115)

It was good to see the Liberty back to form in Game 2. The big play from all around is going to need to continue if they want to win these next 2 games.

Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu have been shooting horribly from 3-point range. Laney and Vandersloot have really stepped up to hit those shots. The Liberty need them back to their ways, so they can build leads.

New York is going to need to contain Bonner and Thomas. They both have played well so far, and the Liberty haven't had much of an answer for either of them. Shutting one of them down can be the difference between a hard-fought win and a blowout.

The short line makes me like this even more. The sportsbooks are excepting a close game here and I personally think New York comes out shooting better to say otherwise.

Better shooting, tighter defense and continuing their play will get them the win on the road. As mentioned before, New York is a good road team, so they are not scared. Give me the ladies in the Seafoam on the spread for the W.

Player Prop: Jonquel Jones O10.5 Rebounds (-125)

There's not much to say here if you've been following the WNBA Playoffs. Jones may silently be the best player of the playoffs so far.

She is averaging a double-double in the playoffs, having 1 in all 4 games played. She has cleared this rebound line in all 4 games as well.

Jones averaged 8.4 rebounds per game this season and can really crash the boards defensively. She had 9 defensive rebounds in just Game 2 alone.

I really like this spot for her to continue to play well. I don't mind paying the juice man a little here too after watching her play so far. Expect Jones to keep up the hard play and get her boards.
