We have a massive game 3 on our hands between the New York Liberty and the Phoenix Mercury. The Mercury went into the Barclays Center in game 2 and stole the show. They looked really good and won the game by 26 points.
The Mercury controlled the entire game, but the Liberty played their part of doing nothing. New York shot 30% from the field and 23% from three-point range. For quarters 2, 3 and 4 – the Liberty only scored 35 total points. Sheesh.
Satou Sabally and Alyssa Thomas both had 15 points apiece. Sabally added 7 rebounds and 4 assists while Thomas had 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Kahleah Copper and DeWanna Bonner contributed with 14 points each as well.
If the Mercury can continue to move the ball around, they have a great chance a winning. New York will obviously need to shoot better if they want any chance, but for Phoenix, just play smart basketball and tight defense.

New York needs a big bounce back after poor performance in Game 2

Liberty forward Jonquel Jones and Mercury Kathryn Westbeld look on during a free throw attempt.
After a solid win in game 1, the Liberty were nowhere to be found in game 2. They looked terrible on both sides of the ball and completely lost. Shooting the ball and filling the void for Breanna Stewart.
I know Stewie played last game, but she only played 20 minutes and was completely off. She only had 6 points and only took 6 total shots in the game. You can tell she may be forcing herself and playing through the injury.
Sabrina Ionescu couldn't hit a basket to save her life. Her three of thirteen shooting was horrible, including one of eight from three-point range. The Liberty need her to lead this team during Stewart's injury, especially in case she goes out.
If one this is certain, it is that Phoenix will not give them this game. They're going to need to grind it out and cannot play like last game. Let's check out the odds and get into the Liberty vs. Mercury picks.

We're going to get a good game, no blowout nonsense. I see a lot of game 1 happening again and this game is close. I'm taking the Liberty for that reason because I also think they sneak out the win.
New York is going to shake their poor shooting game and get right back on track. I think Sabrina Ionescu has a big game and Jonquel Jones puts up a double double. They're going to have to fight off Alyssa Thomas and Satou Sabally and that's not going to be easy.
Give me DeWanna Bonner for 11 or more points for -118. She has been a solid role player and a lot of history playing the Liberty. I think she passes this number easily and not a bad ladder to 15 points for +285.
The other play I like is Satou Sabally to hit 2 or more three pointers for -146. She hit in game 2 and missed in game 1, but she put up 10 attempts in game 1 so the volume is there. Phoenix is going to be looking to close this out and she'll be heavily involved.
