Two of the league's best teams will face off today and we're going to dive in. The New York Liberty will play the Minnesota Lynx at the Target Center. These two teams last played a week ago and the Liberty won the game by 13 points.
New York is 13-9 this season and are tied for first in the Eastern Conference. They come into this game off a loss to the Wings on Tuesday night. The Liberty are 5-5 in their last ten games and 6-4 on the road this year.

It's been a back and forth first half of the season for New York. They started off slow, then went on an eight-game win streak and now have hit a little rut again. Adding forward Satou Sabally has been disappointing so far with her only playing thirteen games.
On paper, the Liberty don't look good but are pulling out wins. That's that veteran presence they have to keep fighting and win games. The East is a little weak right now as there are three teams tied for first with a 13-9 record.

Minnesota cruising this season despite missing their star player

Minnesota Lynx guard Olivia Miles celebrates after draining a big three-point shot.
The Lynx are 16-6 this year and second in the Western Conference. They come into this game off a win over the Sun on Wednesday by six points. Minnesota is 6-4 in their last ten games and are also 6-4 at home this season.
This team is on one this year with how they're playing. Their leader, Napheesa Collier, has been out all season with an ankle injury, but this team hasn't missed a beat. Veterans Kayla McBride, Courtney Williams and newly added veteran Natasha Howard have been holding it down nicely.
Another X factor is rookie guard Olivia Miles. She is averaging a team high 18.5 points per game as well as 5.7 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game. This kid is unreal and totally going to win Rookie of the Year at the end of the season.
Minnesota has a deep squad, and you need that to succeed and go far in a season. There's no certainty Collier returns soon, but when she does – watch out. Let's check out the odds and get into the Liberty vs Lynx picks.

This will most definitely be a good game. I expect both teams to score the ball and for the game to go over. My other feeling is this Liberty team knows how to handle Minnesota and at the least will cover the spread.
The Liberty need to replicate what they did a week ago. They'll need to keep Olivia Miles in check and shut down Natasha Howard. Howard only had 7 points last game and averages 17 per game. On offense, they'll need everyone to contribute and will look for another big game from Breanna Stewart.
Center Jonquel Jones has heated up lately and I like her again today. Give me her double double after hitting in her last two games and one being vs. Minnesota. She can use her size advantage over players like Miles who grab boards. Jones had 15 boards vs them and her 10 or more at even money is a good look.
