We have a Western Conference matchup tonight in Hollywood. The Portland Fire are in town to take on the Los Angeles Sparks. This will be the first time they meet in the regular season after meeting in the preseason.
Los Angeles is 4-6 this season and sixth in the West. They come into this game on a three-game losing streak after another loss to the Wings on Friday. The Sparks have struggled at home this season, going 1-5 so far.
POD Sneak Peak: Portland Fire Spread +7.5 (-110)

This team has shown signs of life, just can't get the job done. They rank sixth in the league for points per game and third in shooting percentage. LA plays a fast game, ranking fourth in the league for pace.
On defense is where the problems lie. They rank fifteenth in the league for defensive rating and turnovers per game. Playing smart basketball is key and they're sloppy on the one end of the court. Luckily for them, they aren't facing the best offense in the league tonight.

Portland comes in looking to break a losing streak as well

Portland Fire forwards Serah Willians and Frieda Bühner fight for a rebound vs Sparks center Cameron Brink.
The Fire are 6-6 this year and are fifth in the West. They come into this game on a two-game skid after a loss to the Mercury on Friday. Portland is 2-2 on the road this season, so they really play the same whether home or away.
For their first season together, the Fire aren't too bad. They shoot the ball decently, ranking fifth in the league for field goal, free throw and three-point percentage. Portland plays a slow game though, ranking in the bottom of the league for pace. That could be a problem tonight.
Defense is rough on this team. They rank in the bottom of the league for defensive rating and also turn the ball over a lot. The Fire don't rebound well and going up against Hamby and Brink will be a test.
It's going to be a interesting game between two struggling teams. Let's check out the odds and get into the Fire vs. Sparks picks.

We should see a close game, I think. Both teams are looking for a much-needed win, and I don't know if the Sparks can pull it off. The Fire have shown so far that they can hang, and I think they cover this spread.
It's going to be slop show, turnovers and poor rebounding all around. With that being said, I do think this game goes under. When they faced in the preseason, they put up 160 points and this total is high. LA can score the bucket, having multiple 90+ point games, which is probably why.
Give me Kelsey Plum to keep crushing her points line. I like her over 21.5 points for -115. Plum has cleared this line in back-to-back games as well as her last six out of seven. In all six of thos games, Plum has had 25+ points, so that will be hit as well.
