We have two teams facing off who are dying for a win. The Chicago Sky will take on the Washington Mystics at CareFirst Arena. These two teams played back at the beginning of the month and the Mystics squeaked out a two-point win.
The Washington Mystics are 12-13 this season and 4th in the Eastern Conference. They come into this game off a loss to the Mercury. Washington is 5-5 in their last ten games and 8-5 at home this season.
The new core of the Mystics will look to take advantage of this beat up Sky team. Brittney Sykes, Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron have emerged as a dangerous trio while having Shakira Austin down low. They're currently right in the hunt for the eighth playoff spot.
Their defense could use some work. Washington ranks second to last in steals and turnovers. They absolutely need to protect the ball better. The Mystics are also seventh in defensive rating, so middle of the pack.

Injured Sky look to snap 5-game losing streak

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese tries to make space while guarded by Washington Mystics forward Kiki Iriafen.
The Sky are 7-18 this season and 5th in the Eastern Conference. They come into this game on a five-game losing streak and have been injured. Chicago is 3-7 in their last ten games and are 3-10 on the road.
Angel Reese has been battling a back issue that has kept her out of a game or two, but she is probable for tonight. The Sky will continue to be without guard Ariel Atkins who is still out with a leg injury. Sucks because this would be a revenge narrative spot and you know how I love a good narrative bet.
Chicago has struggled this year as they are really led by Angel Reese. They were absolutely crushed in the last 2 games she missed. This shows the team's lack of depth and also how much she really is the core of this team.
It'll be a tough task for the Mystics but will have a better chance assuming Reese plays. Let's check out the odds and get into the Sky vs. Mystics picks.

As long as Reese plays, the Sky have a chance here. They should get out played as they'll be missing 10+ points from Atkins and that should be enough for the Mystics to win this comfortably. I think we see the Mystics take this on and cover in a bounce back spot from their previous loss.
Washington really has the deeper bench here and I think that's what will get them over the hump. Chicago will be relying on Reese to carry this team, and she'll need help from Cardoso and Kia Nurse.
I like for Reese to get 26 or more points and rebounds combined for -118. She missed her last game that she played due to injury but was only four off. She had been on a killer streak leading in the All-Star break and I think she starts cooking again.
The other play I like is for Kiki Iriafen to get 8 or more rebounds for -130. She's coming off back-to-back games with double digits rebound totals. Iriafen grabbed ten boards in their last meeting back in early July.
