Los Angeles Sparks vs New York Liberty Prediction, Odds & Best Bets: Sparks must win to stay alive

We got a great matchup tonight and it's the season finale for both teams. The New York Liberty (31-7) take on the Los Angeles Sparks (16-22) at the Barclays Center in a game with all sorts of playoffs implications.
This is a must win game for the Sparks as they are tied for the 8th seed, but do not have the tie breaker over the Chicago Sky. A win would put them in the 8th seed with Chicago to play their last game on Friday.
If they were to tie in the standings, the tie breaker would go to the Sky as they have the better winning percentage against all teams with a .500 or better record. Strange tie breaker, but that's the rule.
New York is currently sitting 1 game behind the Las Vegas Aces for the 1st seed. At this rate, it doesn't really matter if they finish 1st or 2nd, but they may want that #1 seed to go along with a great season.
The Liberty are coming in hot on a 7-game win streak. They are also 9-1 in their last 10 games and are 14-4 are home this season, so they're getting hot at the right time.
These 2 teams have met twice and the Liberty have won both times. They played a back-to-back and both games were won by single digit points.
The big 4 of the Liberty have been so good this year. Breanna Stewart, Courtney Vandersloot and Jonquel Jones have helped surround Sabrina Ionescu with the weapons she's needed to be successful.
Stewart is just coming off a 40 point and 10 rebound performance vs the Wings Tuesday night. This was her 4th 40-point game of the year. She averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds per game this week and 22.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game this month.
She was just named the Player of the Week for the 6th time this season and Player of the Month for the 3rd time this season. Stewart looks like she's really making that final push for league MVP.

This is going to be a tough game. Two teams who both not only want it but need it, so we got a good one on our hands. The Sparks will only need to keep it close!
For us bettors, the line is beautiful. The Sparks should come to play without a doubt. They have more on the line than the Liberty do when it comes down to it, so 12 points is nice.
Even if the Sparks can't keep the game super close, I think they keep it under 10 points. Both games earlier this season were kept under 10 points and they're giving us another 2 points? I'll take that every day of the week and twice on Sundays please.
Player Prop: Betnijah Laney O12.5 points (-128)
Laney has been playing really well lately and as I always say, it's coming at the right time. She is averaging 12.6 points per game this season and has been crushing that.
She has hit this line is her last 5 games straight games and her last 7 out of 8 games. The lowest point total for her in those 7 games was 15 points, so she is clearing the line without a problem. She is coming off a 22 point performance last game.
In a tough, hard nose game, the Liberty are going to need her to perform. Each team is really going to want to get a win out of this game for playoff seeding, so the whole team will need to come to play. I expect Laney to get her points tonight, even if we're paying the juice man.
