Dallas Wings vs Connecticut Sun WNBA Prediction, Odds and Best Bets cover

Going into the 2nd game of a back-to-back, the Dallas Wings (16-14) will take on the Connecticut Sun (21-9). This is the 4th matchup between the two teams this season. The Sun won the first 2 games, and the Wings just won the most recent game.

In the game this past Saturday, the Wings won by 10-points. Satou Sabally went off for 28 points and 8 rebounds. Sun forward Alyssa Thomas also had herself a game with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Arike Ogunbowale contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds herself.

Not to take anything away from the Wings, but the Sun were missing a key piece with DeWanna Bonner playing injured. Look for her to rebound with this time off as the back injury wasn’t severe. She is not listed on the injury report.

The have played great ball this year, currently 2nd in the Eastern Conference. They’re a good home and road team which gives them an edge. They have hit a little skid as they’re 6-4 in their last 10 games and are on a 2-game losing streak.

Can the Wings keep up with a healthy Sun team?

In the 2 losses to the Sun this year, the Wings weren’t blown out and contended in each game. They lost by 5-points and 6-points in the 2 games.

A big key to the game they won was free throw shooting. The Wings shot 93% while the Sun shot 50%, which ended up being an 18-point difference. They went to the line 27 times which is actually insane.

The Wings will look to do some of the same and get Connecticut into foul trouble. Bigs like Natasha Howard and Teaira McCowan will play a big role in this when rebounding the ball. But will it be enough to get a second win?

Dallas Wings and Connecticut Sun Predictions and Picks

Pick: Dallas Wings +2.5 (-110)

I know it seems crazy, but I like Dallas in this game. They are 6-8 on the road this year but are coming in with momentum. Being the 4th matchup, they also know what to expect from the Sun.

The Wings are the top rebounding team in the league and will need it to be on full display. Natasha Howard and Teaira McCowan will need to crash the boards with Sabally. They also lead the league in offensive rebounds which can be a difference maker.

Look for Arike to put up numbers. She’s put-up 20+points in the last 2 games against each other. If she can get cooking, it will take a lot of pressure of the bigs and create oppourtunities all around.

I expected this line to be close believe it or not. I’m going to take the Wings +2.5 here because I think this is going to be an extremely close game, so give me the points.

Player Prop: Satou Sabally O2.5 3’s (-113)

Sabally has been killing it as of late. She has had 20+ points in her last 3 games and at least 18+ in her last 6 games.

She has been hot from 3 her past 2 games, clearing the line with 3 in each game. She has cleared the line in 3 of her last 6 games as well. In all 6 games, the minimum number of shots she attempted was 4, so the volume is there to hit this line.

I also really like the value here. Her points line is 19.5 and juiced to -136, so if they think she’s getting her points, then she’s going to hit 3’s.
