Connecticut Sun vs Minnesota Lynx Prediction and Picks: Winner moves on to the next round

We go to a decisive Game 3 in the Minnesota Lynx vs the Connecticut Sun series. Minnesota stole Game 2 from the Sun in a 7-point win, 82-75. This is the only series to go the full 3 games.

The Lynx will have home court advantage, which in the playoffs is huge in any sport. They're going to need to bring everything they have as a feisty Sun team will be playing with a chip on their shoulders.

Connecticut was the better team this year and favored in the series. It was surprising to see them go down in game 2, but that's why they play the game. The Sun were 14-6 on the road this year, so they have no fears playing away. It's going to take a team effort to win this game though.

Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner will be coming out hungry. Thomas played her normal role all around in Game 2. She finished with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Bonner stepped up with 25 points of her own. Despite their performances, they still lost.

Both teams have released their injury reports. Minnesota will be without Lindsay Allen (left thumb) and Jessica Shepard (left ankle). The Sun are without Brionna Jones, but she has been out for most of the season with an Achilles injury. Otherwise, the Sun are at full strength.

Napheesa Collier led the Lynx to the Game 2 win with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Kayla McBride had the game high 28 points and 8 rebounds. The Lynx will need this type of game from her again to win Game 3.

McBride averaged 14.3 points per game this year, so last game was big for her. If she can't put up 25+ points again, then players like Diamond Miller and Dorka Juhasz will need to step up.

Both teams are playing with their backs against the wall. It should be a dog fight for the win and only one team will come out on top. Let's get into the lines and see who comes out on top.

Pick: Connecticut Sun -4.5 (-120)

This Sun team has been well all year and will have a big chip on their shoulders. They were playing well toward the end of the season, winning 4 out of their last 6 games.

Thomas and Bonner will need to replicate last game in their stat lines. Connecticut needs to come out early and take over this game. They can't allow the Lynx to stay it the game because they will hang around.

Last games stats were very even, but the Sun will need to out rebound Minnesota and get more points in the paint. They were outscored by 10 points in the paint in Game 2.

The Sun were down by as much as 16 points in Game 2 and I don't see any of that happening again. They will come out with fast paced, high-powered offense early.

This is a short line which makes me like the Sun more. Because of the result of last game, the line came down by 5 points vs Games 1 and 2. The isn't too juiced as well, so I like the Sun to close this series out and cover the spread.

Player Prop: Kayla McBride O16.5 Points (-113)

Kayla has been playing great basketball since the end of the season and carried into the playoffs. She has hit this line in 3 of her last 5 games and the books have caught on. All 3 of the games were 20-point games and the 2 that missed…she had 16 points.

She has become the number 2 on this team as the season was ending. She has carried that momentum and I think she keeps it up because she has too.

This line is sneaky from the books, but I think with the season on the line, she pulls through. She has proven she can ball when the pressure is on. If she shoots well from 3-point range, we have a great shot at cashing with ease.
