2022 ATP Cincinnati Masters Betting: Will Medvedev or Nadal leave with top ranking?
With two weeks until the start of the US Open, the biggest names on the ATP and WTA tours–minus one notable absence will be in Cincinnati this week for the Western & Southern Open, also known as the Cincinnati Masters.
The action moves to the home of the Bengals, Reds, and Cincinnati chili this week after an exciting, upset-filled week at the 1000-level events in Montreal and Toronto.
In Montreal, where the men’s edition of the National Bank Open was held, the top three seeds were bounced in the second round. Only three seeded players reached the quarterfinals, and in the end, #8 seed Hubert Hurkacz and unseeded Pablo Carreno Busta reached the final.
In Montreal, Daniil Medvedev, the world number one and the #1 seed in the tournament, was bounced by Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in the second round.
Another early exit in Cincinnati could see Medvedev’s reign atop the rankings end. But for that to happen, he will have to fall short of the quarters and Rafael Nadal, the #2 seed this week, must win the title.
Medvedev, who won the tournament in 2019 with a win in the final over David Goffin, edges out Nadal and #3 seed Carlos Alcaraz atop the ATP Cincinnati 2022 odds.
