Wimbledon Men’s Singles Semifinal Predictions & Picks: Will the Top Two Seeds Advance?

Last year, the top two seeds met in the men's singles final in all four of the Grand Slam tournaments. Will we see it happen for the first time this year come Sunday? Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev have one more hurdle to clear as Wimbledon nears its conclusion.

After finally putting years of Grand Slam near-misses behind him by winning the French Open last month, Zverev advanced beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon for the first time and is now on the cusp of a second straight Slam final.

Standing in his way is home hopeful Arthur Fery, whose wild wildcard run continued with a stunning straight-sets win over No. 9 Flavio Cobolli in the quarterfinals.

Fery is a huge underdog at Lucky Rebel and other top online sportsbooks, as is No. 7 seed Novak Djokovic for his semifinal showdown with Sinner, the world number one and defending champion.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion won the most recent meeting between the two in this year's Australian Open semifinals, but Sinner dispatched Djokovic in straight sets at this stage of Wimbledon last year.

Does Fery have at least one more magic moment in him, or will his fantastic fortnight end a win short of the final? Does Djokovic have more in the tank after making it through a marathon in the quarterfinals, or will Sinner have too much for him on grass again?

Fery vs. Zverev: Fery Under 15.5 Games Won (-120 at Lucky Rebel)

I would not be surprised at all if Fery managed to take a set off Zverev. However, it's hard to see him doing more than that.

This alternate games total offers enough wiggle room for Fery to win a set and be competitive in others, and if that is indeed how it shakes out, he would have nothing to hang his head about. As it is, he will sit nearly 80 spots higher in next week's ATP rankings than he entered Wimbledon, and he has far exceeded what he was expected to do in the tournament.

Sinner vs. Djokovic: Sinner -2.5 Sets (+167 at BetOnline) & Djokovic Under 18 Games Won (-122 at Lucky Rebel)

Djokovic continues to defy the hands of Father Time in spectacular fashion, and his five-hour, 14-minute, 7-6 (12-10), 3-6, 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (10-4) win over Felix Auger-Aliassime on Tuesday showed that doubting him at any juncture remains a risky endeavor.

But this tournament has been a battle for Djokovic, save for a smooth second-round win over Stefano Tsitsipas, whose best days appear to be a distant memory at this point. He's come out on top in all of those battles, but I think the only way he beats Sinner is in five sets, and I don't see him pushing it that far or extending every set deep enough to potentially test Sinner's fitness.

Taking the games under is a little protection in case Sinner doesn't win in straight sets, but I see this one playing out much like their matchup in last year's Wimbledon semifinals.
