Sinner vs. Zverev 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Final Prediction & Picks cover (Jannik Sinner)

tennis

Carlos Alcaraz may not have been able to take part at Wimbledon, but the men's singles final will still end up being a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup with Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev set to face off for the title.

After winning his first Wimbledon title last year, Sinner overcame a first-round scare against Miomir Kecmanovic to put himself within reach of a second straight Wimbledon win and a fifth Grand Slam title.

He has produced a rather resounding response to his early French Open exit and eased concerns about how he would fare in the elements after he could not cope physically in Paris.

At Lucky Rebel and other top online sportsbooks, Sinner sits as a heavy favorite over Zverev, who took advantage of Sinner's shocking second-round loss and Alcaraz's absence to finally win his first Grand Slam title at Roland Garros.

That title was clinched with a five-set triumph versus Flavio Cobolli, who put up quite the fight in defeat. But if he wants to make it two in two, he will have to pass the toughest possible test.

Oddsmakers don't rate Zverev's chances highly, but he seems to have unlocked a new level. Can he push Sinner, or will the world number one cruise to his first Slam win in 2026?

Sinner vs. Zverev Prediction and Picks

Zverev, who also made the Australian Open semifinals, is the lone men's or women's singles player to reach the semis in each of the year's first three Slams.

His struggles with sealing the deal certainly remain to some degree, as evidenced by the fact that he has already reached the semis in eight tournaments this year but is set for just his third final.

But when it comes to the Slams, his crushing loss to Alcaraz in Melbourne seems to have ignited something.

It perhaps helps that Alcaraz was absent at both Roland Garros and the All England Club, and that Sinner was not up to the task in Paris, but Grand Slam titles do not come easy, no matter who is in the draw.

In this tournament, his quarterfinal sweep of Taylor Fritz should go down as one of the most impressive performances of his career, and in Friday's 7-6 (7-0), 6-4, 6-2 win over Arthur Fery, he did not give the surprise semifinalist the same opening that he received in other matches.

However, Sinner is a different beast altogether. Zverev knows this well, as he has lost to him times already this season and nine straight times since a win in the fourth round of the 2023 US Open.

This will be their first meeting on grass, but it is hard to see it going differently than the last nine meetings.

The last six have all been straight-sets wins for Sinner, including a 58-minute, 6-1, 6-2 dismantling in the Madrid Masters final in May.

Anything is certainly possible, especially when you are in strong form. But don't expect Zverev to sniff an upset here, and I don't even see him forcing a fourth set.
