The 2026 FIFA World Cup has concluded group stage, and we have finally made it to the knockout rounds. Fans are blessed with three matches per day from Monday through Friday this week, plus we have one kicking off on Sunday, as South Africa takes on Canada. The surprise second place team in Group A takes on the second place team from Group B, and many are upset that this host nation isn't playing at home. Oh well, let's see what our analysts are wagering on in this game with their favorite picks.

South Africa had an incredible victory over South Korea in their final group stage match to secure a spot in the Round of 32. But now the real test begins. Canada drew with Bosnia in comeback fashion to earn a point in their first match, annihilated Qatar 6-0, and then lost to Switzerland in the group decider. South Africa lost to Mexico, had a comeback draw against Czechia, and finally beat South Korea to secure a spot.
They advanced to the knockout rounds for the first time in the country's history. How far can they go?

For all you new soccer bettors out there, this is a 90 minute wager. There might be extra time and penalty kicks. If things are tied after 90 minutes, teams will play two 15 minute periods of extra time, followed by a PK shootout to decide a winner if necessary.
But this is a 90 minute bet. Now, check with your book, because some are offering wagers that include extra time for a different price. However I am more than willing to pay this extra juice to ensure I don't have to sweat the extra 30 minutes.
This match is going to be a 1-0 Canada win, or a 1-1 draw (after regulation). South Africa is going to make it very tough on Canada to score, as they did with South Korea in their victory. If South Africa somehow finds the back of the net, expect them to abandon all offensive efforts and park the gosh darn bus. Canada will spend the rest of the match playing catchup.
If Canada is able to find the back of the net first, I expect the same thing from them. There is no reason to try and score more, rather they should focus those efforts on defending this lead. Regardless, I see it being low scoring.
