Major League Soccer: Saturday's Predictions June 28

Real Salt Lake vs. Sporting KC: MLS Picks

Best Bet: Real Salt Lake ML (+185) BetOnline

Fading my hometown club, I'll be backing RSL tonight in Kansas City. Both teams are at the bottom of the Western Conference, and Sporting is prone to getting into high scoring affairs. They've netted 30 but allowed 36 goals this season in 19 matches. Real Salt Lake is only scoring one goal per match so far this season, but they are coming off a 2-0 win, and Sporting KC's defense isn't all that great.

I'll admit this is strictly a value play, and you can take the draw no bet line at (+111) if you'd rather. However Kansas City is due for a let down, and I think this is the spot.

This total is very high for a Real Salt Lake match, as just 7/18 contests have seen at least three goals, so I think it's telling that Sporting let's a couple through. You could also take RSL's Team Total at Over 1.5 (+118) as well. Sporting is at home, but in reality, I think Real Salt Lake is in a great spot to propel themselves forward in the standings with three points on the road tonight.

Prediction: Real Salt Lake Wins 2-1 (+875)

Seattle Sounders vs. Austin FC: MLS Picks

Best Bet: Sounders ML/BTTS No (+210) BetOnline

The Sounders just got their stuff destroyed in the FIFA Club World Cup. They lost all three matches, facing Botafogo, Atlético Madrid and Paris-Saint Germain. Those are three very tough opponents.

Coming home and facing Austin F.C. is going to be a piece of cake.

Austin has had trouble scoring this season, netting just 15 goals in their 19 matches in the MLS. Seattle lost their last time out at home, but prior to that won four straight and were unbeaten in eight straight. I trust them to come prepared to win in front of their home towns fans after a disappointing showing in the Club World Cup.

The visitors have won two straight, and it's about time they come back down to Earth. This is an important match as both are tied in the standings with each other and two other teams at 26 points Picking up three will be essential for the hosts, especially in order to bounce back and get their confidence up.

Prediction: Sounders Win 2-0 (+625)
