The CONCACAF Gold Cup has reached its quarterfinals as we are down to our final eight teams. Tonight in Glendale, Arizona, Mexico and Saudi Arabia battle it out at State Farm Stadium.
Mexico vs. Saudi Arabia Gold Cup Picks June 28
Mexico was able to earn the top spot in Group A. They tied with Costa Rica on points, both with seven a piece. Those two played to a scoreless draw in their final group stage match as Mexico held on to first place by goal differential. As for Saudi Arabia, they finished second in Group D behind the United States. The Gold Cup invitees beat Haiti in their opening match, lost to the U.S., and then drew with Trinidad and Tobago to advance to the quarterfinals.
Back in the 2022 World Cup, Mexico defeated Saudi Arabia 2-1 in Group Stage, with the Saudis finding a goal in the 90'+5′.
Tonight, they have a tough task facing the defending Gold Cup Champions in Mexico.

Ultimately, Saudi Arabia is outmatched. Mexico is primed and ready to keep rolling in this Gold Cup bracket, and I see them starting the knockout portion of this competition with an easy victory.

Back the better team tonight. Simple. Mexico is a heavy favorite for a reason, and they should handle business. They have won two of the last three Gold Cup competitions, making the finals in three straight seasons. This tournament should be no different, as Mexico is easily the strongest team overall.
While Saudi Arabia has not allowed more than one goal in a match yet this competition, Mexico will be a different animal to face. They netted three against the Dominican Republic and two against Suriname before going scoreless against Costa Rica (where they only needed a draw).
Tonight I see them leaving no doubt in a stadium that should have plenty of support for this squad. Give me Mexico in a dominating victory tonight, netting at least two. I also lean with Mexico to Win to Nil at (+115), but I trust their offense to get the job done slightly more.
Prediction: Mexico Wins 3-0 (+900)
