Wild vs Blues NHL Predictions & Picks (10/15)
The recent history between these Central Division rivals has clearly leaned in one direction throughout the last few years. Since the beginning of the 2019-20 NHL season, the Blues have won 16 of their last 22 matchups against the Wild. That includes when St. Louis went 3-1 SU against Minnesota during the 2023-24 campaign, featuring two wins in as many meetings at Enterprise Center.
In fact, the Wild are only 3-11 SU across their last 14 trips to St. Louis.
Tonight marks the Blues’ first home game after going 2-1 SU on the road to begin the season. St. Louis is coming off a 4-3 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights, though, leaving time to tell if the hosts can get back on track.
As for the Wild, they’ve yet to lose in regulation through three games, going 1-0-2 thus far. Having said that, both of their overtime/shootout losses came in their last two outings, including Sunday’s 2-1 OT defeat to the Winnipeg Jets.
How will the Wild respond to their back-to-back overtime losses?
Offensively and on special teams, the Blues appear to have that advantage heading into tonight’s affair. They’re averaging 3.67 goals per game (T-9th) with a 33.3% power-play percentage (T-4th) whereas the Wild are scoring 2.50 GPG (T-21st) while owning a 25.0 PP% (T-13th). St. Louis is also tied for 15th in terms of penalty kill percentage (80.0%) while Minnesota sits second-last (57.1%).
Having said that, the Wild have the edge on the other side of the equation, allowing 2.67 goals against per game (T-8th) compared to the Blues’ mark of 3.33 GA/G (T-15th).
There’s a good chance that the Wild will roll with Filip Gustavsson between the pipes following his strong start to the year. The Swedish netminder owns a 1.99 goals-against average and .941 save percentage through two starts while boasting a .931 SV% and 2.05 GAA in three career meetings against St. Louis.
As for the Blues, it looks like Jordan Binnington will get another start. Binnington hasn’t been anything special thus far, playing to a .900 SV% and 3.02 GAA. But even if those stats aren’t mind-blowing, it’s important not to forget that he’s 10-4-1 with a .908 SV%, 2.70 GAA, and one shutout in 16 matchups against the Wild in his career.
Will Blues G Jordan Binnington find even more success against the Wild?
In a game that could go either way, I’m taking the Wild to win tonight. The Blues’ goaltending just hasn’t been reliable, which could lead to some trouble if Binngton can’t make early stops. Even if the Wild are coming off back-to-back losses, both defeats came after regulation, meaning they could easily be 3-0-0 right now.
As for the best game bet, let’s take the Over on the 6-goal total. The 10 previous Wild-Blues matchups averaged 6.6 total goals while finishing with seven or more in three of the last six meetings. After these division rivals combined for nine goals in their last clash back in March, I expect to see a decent amount of offense this evening.

Best Wild vs Blues NHL Player Prop (10/15)
You can’t go wrong with several Wild vs. Blues player props tonight, including Kirill Kaprizov to record at least one assist (-114).
Kaprizov has proven to be a gifted playmaker early in his NHL career, tallying 173 assists through his first 281 games. The 2020-21 Calder Trophy winner racked up a solid 50 assists in 75 appearances last season before starting off the 2024-25 campaign with three helpers in as many games. He now gets to go up against the Blues, who are allowing the 15th-most goals and 12th-most shots per game this season.
In other words, there should be plenty of opportunities for Kaprizov to set up his Wild teammates.
Furthermore, Kaprizov has six assists in his last nine matchups against the Blues, which includes pulling through on this prop in the last two encounters.
Best Wild vs. Blues Player Prop: Kirill Kaprizov 1+ Assist (-114)
