We're here at day three of the 2026 Winter Olympics. In Group B, Team Finland will take on Team Sweden. These two teams have a long history against each other and are split 5-5 each in their last ten games.
Team Sweden won their first game vs. Italy on Wednesday 5-2. The Sweds never trailed during this game even though they were tied twice up until the end of the second period. This team is really sneaky as they are completely packed with talent.
On offense, this team is really stacked when you look at it. They got goals out of William Nylander, Gabriel Landeskog and Mika Zibanejad. Always great to see the guys you expect to get you on the board do just that. They converted their only power play of the game.
Their defense has some great offensive defensemen. Victor Hedman, Rasmus Dahlin and Erik Karlsson are just a few to name on this team. Defense could be their X-factor with that line up of guys.
In goal we're expected to see Devils goalie Jacob Markstrom. Last game, goalie Filip Gustavsson started and saved 20 of the 22 shots he faced. Markstrom could really thrive if they play an aggressive defensive game.

Finland will try to get in the win column after opening loss

Finland forward Mikko Rantanen takes the puck into the offensive zone.
Finland comes into this game off a shocking 4-1 loss to Slovakia on Wednesday. They have to come into this game aggressive and get on the board first. If they play from behind this game, they could really get left behind.
They need to figure out the offense. Scoring one goal isn't going to cut it in an Olympic game and they have the talent to do better. Guys like Mikko Rantanen and Mikael Granlund were nowhere to be found and same with Sebatian Aho and Roope Hintz. All put puck on net but no results.
This is a heated rivalry, and the Fins haven't won in a while. I think the loss plus ending the losing streak may be enough to get a win. It's going to take their best effort on offense and defense.
We're expected to see Juuse Saros in net again. He is having a decent season for Nashville this year. Hopefully he can get a little more help on defense. Let's check out the odds and get into the Finland vs. Sweden picks.

It should be a fun one to watch, but I have the Sweds getting the job done. Finland didn't look great last game and Sweden did. Sweden is going to be riding that momentum into this game and blow past Finland.
I like for some of the same guys to be involved for Sweden. Nylander and Zibanejad both for 3 or more shots on goal. I also like for Rasmus Dahlin to record 2 or more points. Being the lead on that defense gives him a lot of opportunities to shoot.
For anytime goal scorers, I like William Nylander again. I also think Mikko Rantanen will find the back of the net this game. For sleepers, give me Filip Forsberg and Roope Hintz to score a goal, but just a sprinkle.
