It has been an exciting few days to kick off the 2026 Winter Olympics. Today we're covering the Team Denmark vs. Team USA men's hockey game. This will be the second game of the Olympics for both teams. Team USA has won the last four meetings between the two teams.
Team USA came out and made their mark after their first game. They beat Team Latvia 5-1 on Thursday in their opener. It started a little slow for USA with a 1-1 tie after the first period, but they blew the game open with three goals in the second period.
Forward Brock Nelson led the way with two goals and both Jack's, Eichel and Hughes, each had two assists. The team started the game off with a big goal from Brady Tkachuk from his brother Matthew. Other goals came from Tage Thompson and Quinn Hughes.
Other than the early goal they allowed, the defense was solid. They only allowed eighteen total shots, which seventeen were saved. Goalie Connor Hellebuyck got the win, and it looks like Jeremy Swayman is going to get the start today.

Denmark will try to put together all it has to get a win today

Denmark forward Nikolaj Ehlers and Markus Lauridsen discuss the play before puck drop.
Team Denmark dropped their first game vs. Germany 3-1. They didn't really show anything exciting that game, but it was their first game. Denmark has their work really cut out for them today than they did vs. the Germans.
There are only a handful of NHL'ers on this team. This includes Nikolaj Ehlers, Oliver Bjorkstrand and Lars Eller. They also have Freddy Andersen in net for them. These guys really need to rally the rest of the squad if they want to compete.
Denmark's defense struggled last game and is going to need to stand on their head today. USA is so fast and talented that it's going to be so hard to slow them down. Let's check out the odds and get into the Denmark vs. USA picks.

Well, I think team USA crushes, but there isn't much value unless you want to ride for them to win by four or more goal. But, with that said, we're going with the game total over for the value and there will be goals. I'm curious to see what Denmark can produce, but they should sneak one by.
The offense on Team USA is like a cheat code in a video game. Denmark just doesn't have the talent to keep up on either side of the puck. It shouldn't take much for USA to get the scoring started. Power plays could bury Denmark, so they need to play smart.
I like for guys like Brady Tkachuk and Jack Hughes to tally points. Give me Tkachuk to score a goal and Hughes for 2 or more points. Jack really showed how much of a play maker he is and his skill last game.
Another play that is sneaky is Denmark to score under 0.5 goals or a shutout. I could easily see this happening with a fresh Swayman in net. Other than that early goal last game, USA was totally in control between the pipes.
