The Senators are 22-19-6 this season and last in the Atlantic Division. They come into this off an overtime loss to the Canadiens yesterday in a barn burner. Ottawa is 4-5-1 in their last ten games, 11-10-2 on the road and 5-5-4 in division games.

Offense has been pretty good on this team; they just can't figure out how to win. They rank in the top thirteen for goals scored and shots on goal per game as well as shooting percentage. The Sens also have the eighth best power play in the league.

Defense is where things get a little weird. They allow the third least shots in the league, but let me all in. Ottawa ranks fourth to the last in goals allowed per game, which speaks to the goaltending a bit as well. They'll need to play smart hockey with their second to worst penalty kill too.

Detroit played a solid game vs. the Sharks, who tested them a bit. I think this is a perfect game for the Wings to keep the momentum going. They're comfortable at home and should be a packed crowd for a Sunday evening game before a holiday.

They will need to pour the offense on as the Sens do not protect their net well. Any power play opportunities will need to be taken advantage of with the Sens penalty kill being terrible. And of course, the new goalie could cause a problem for Ottawa.

I like for the Senators to pepper the net like last game. They put up well over 30 shots on Gibson and we should see it again. Gibson's save like should come out around 27-28 saves for probably -125. This is a solid look as Ottawa will need to keep shooting.

Another play I like is Dylan Larkin to get 3 or more shots on goal for -114. The captain will be fully involved in all offense for this game. He is coming off a six-shot game and has hit in four of his last five games.
