We head to Game 2 of the Ottawa Senators vs. the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes took Game 1 in a 2-0 final at home. They'll look to do more of the same tonight at the Lenovo Center.
These playoffs wasted no time to get interesting with gloves being dropped immediately. If I had to guess, that was probably instigated by Senators captain Brady Tkachuk, but Staal didn't back down for a second.
Carolina looked good in their last game. Both teams had a slow starts with not much offense through two periods. Once the third period came, both teams started pouring on the shots, but the Senators couldn't find the back of the net.
The Hurricanes got the first goal of the game in the second period. It came from Logan Stankoven just two minutes into the period. Taylor Hall then got the second and eventually last goal just seven minutes into the third period.
Great way for goalie Freddy Andersen with a shutout. Huge confidence boost as he will most likely be the starter for Game 2. The Senators will look to get some better opportunities to get on the board this game.

Ottawa needs to figure out a way to crack this Carolina defense

Senators forwards Drake Batherson and Brady Tkachuk try to get the puck past Hurricanes goalie Freddy Andersen.
Ottawa needs their core guys to step it up. Tim Stutzle had 4 shots on goal and Drake Batherson had 3 shots on goal, but that's it. No one else on the team had more than 2 and for guys like Brady Tkachuk and Dylan Cozens its unacceptable.
This is the yoffs and every game needs to be treated like do or die. The Senators are up against the sneakiest best team in the league with the Hurricanes. Carolina led the Metro, which is a crazy division, just about the whole year and no one talked about it.
In net, we're expected to see Linus Ullmark. He had 27 saves on 29 shots on goal. Ullmark is definitely going to need as much help from his defense as he can get. Let's check out the odds and get into the Senators vs. Hurricanes picks.

We should see another low total. Carolina is so good at smothering offenses, just like they did in game one. They're going to continue to play their style of hockey and keep the Ottawa offense in check.
Freddy Andersen looked great last game and if the Canes play the same game, we should be instore for another solid performance. He faced over twenty shots last game as well as fought off five power plays. Carolina needs this and should get what they're looking for.
Taylor Hall really stands out for me. He looked great in game one with two points and five shots on goal. I like him for 3 and 4 shots or more on goal as well as anytime goal. This could be a huge point in his career if the Canes can go deep into the playoffs.
