We have the NHL's hottest team back in action tonight on the road. The Buffalo Sabres will take their nine-game winning streak on the road to face the Dallas Stars. This is the first of two matchups between the two teams this season.
Buffalo is 20-14-4 this season and fifth in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on a commanding nine-game winning streak after their last win on Monday. The Sabres are 9-1-0 in their last ten games and 8-9-2 on the road this year.
This team has come out of nowhere and are completely buzzing. Their offense ranks right in the middle of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game. Buffalo's shooting percentage and power play conversion are also the same.
Their defense hasn't been terrible. The Sabres rank seventeenth in goals allowed and twenty fourth in shots on goal allowed per game. They have the third best penalty kill in the league, but commit almost five penalties per game, so they need it.
Goalie Alex Lyon is expected to get the start. He is 10-6-3 this year with a 2.82 GAA and a. 906 save percentage. Lyon will be put to a big test against one of the best offenses in the league in Dallas.

Dallas will try to snap two-game losing streak tonight at home

Stars forwards Matt Duchene and Tyler Seguin celebrate after scoring a goal.
The Stars are 25-7-7 this year and are second in the Central Division. They come into this game on a two-game loss streak after a shootout loss to the Blackhawks on Saturday. Dallas is 6-2-2 in their last ten games and 12-5-2 at home this season.
Dallas is one of the best teams in the league in probably the toughest division in the league. If they were in the Eastern Conference, they'd be in first by three points. If there is a team to break this Sabres winning streak, it's them.
Their offense is top notch. They rank in the top two of the league for goals scored per game, power play conversion and shooting percentage. Dallas puts up some of the least number of shots per game, but it doesn't matter.
Defense and goaltending have been great as well. They rank fourth in the league for goals allowed and fifteenth in shots on goal allowed per game. Like Buffalo, they have a good penalty kill.
In net, we're expected to see Jake Oettinger. He is 16-6-3 this season with a 2.51 GAA and a .910 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Sabres vs. Stars picks.

This could be the end of the win streak for the Sabres, but they're not going down without a fight. There is really no value whatsoever on the spread or moneyline, so we had to find it. I think they can get three passed Oetty tonight.
Buffalo has shown they can hit this number. They have hit it in their last two games and last eight out of the last ten games. I do think this is the end of the win streak and lean with Dallas. This is probably the toughest opponent during this stretch, and all good things must come to an end.
Dallas is going to find the back of the net and give me Mikko Rantanen for 2 or more points. He has hit in his last two games and four of his last five games. Rantanen is the team's leader in points and will be heavily involved in their offense.
Give me Tage Thompson to score a goal for +200. I think he leads this team the best he can with Dahlin and finds the back of the net. He also hasn't scored in four games, and I think he's due to break that.
