Battle of the black and yellow this evening in Boston. The Pittsburgh Penguins will take on the Boston Bruins at TD Garden later today. It's the first of three meetings between the two teams this season.
Pittsburgh is 21-13-9 this season and are fifth in the Metro Division. They come into this game off a loss to the Flames last night in a game they should've won. The Penguins are 7-3-0 in their last ten games and 11-6-4 on the road.
The offense on this team has been really consistent. They rank in the top ten of the league for goals allowed and shots on goal per game. Pittsburgh in eleventh in shooting percentage and have the second-best power play in the league.
Can't really say much different about their defense. Super consistent and ranking just outside the top ten for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. Like their power play, their penalty kill is pretty good, killing off 82% of their penalties.
Goaltender Stuart Skinner is expected to get the start. He is 14-11-4 this season with a 2.66 GAA and a .892 save percentage. Skinner came over to the Penguins in the goalie swap trade for Tristan Jarry.

Boston will try to ride the momentum of big win yesterday

Penguins defenseman Ryan Shea tries to work the puck out of his own zone with Bruins forward David Pastrnak in his way.
The Bruins are 24-19-2 this year and sixth in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on a two-game winning streak after destroying the Rangers yesterday 10-2. Boston is 4-4-2 in their last ten games and are 14-8-1 at home this season.
This team is starting to come around after a slow start. They rank seventh in goals scored and fourth in power play. Boston is twentieth in shots on goal, but sixth in shooting percentage, so they're making their shots count.
Defense is a problem for this team. They rank in the bottom of the league for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. The Bruins commit the most penalties per game in the league with seven and they only kill of 79% of them.
In net, we're expected to see Joonas Korpisalo. He is 7-8-0 this year with a 3.42 GAA and a .888 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Penguins vs. Bruins picks.

Boston went off yesterday and it makes me feel like they'll be quiet today. Pittsburgh can be a little hit or miss, but even if they get a few on the board, I don't think it's more than three. That's going to be because they'll get to Korpisalo.
Skinner has done decent this season with a sub three GAA. He should be able to hold the Bruins to only a goal or two and that puts us under the 7 goals we need to stay under. For a lean, I think the Pens walk away with the win and catch the Bruins a little hung over.
Give me Korpisalo to get over his saves line. It should be around 28 save for -125. The Pens put up almost 30 shots per game, and the Bruins are allowing the same. We should see the Pens have at least 30+ shots this game, helping us clear the line.
