Divisional battle tonight in Buffalo. The Florida Panthers are there to take on the Buffalo Sabres at the KeyBank Center. These two teams played once this year, but it was much earlier in the season. The Sabres won that game 3-0.
Florida is 23-18-3 so far and are seventh in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game off a win over the Senators on Saturday. The Panthers are 4-5-1 in their last ten games, 9-9-0 on the road and 4-7-1 in divisional games.
Their offense isn't ranking that great in the league, but they're keeping up despite missing their two best players. They rank nineteenth in goals scored and twentieth in power play conversion. Florida ranks seventh in shots on goal per game but are twenty second in shooting percentage.
Defense has been back and forth for the Panthers. They rank sixth in shots on goal allowed per game and fifth in penalty kill. Florida may stop a lot of shot attempts, but they can't seem to keep them out of the net. They rank twenty second in goals allowed per game.
Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky is expected to get the start. He is 18-12-1 this season with a 2.90 GAA and a .881 save percentage. Bob also has three shutouts on the season.

Buffalo will look to make it four in a row as they continue to roll

Buffalo Sabres players celebrate together after scoring a goal.
The Sabres are 24-15-4 this season and are fourth in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on a three-game winning streak after a win over the Ducks on Saturday. The Sabres are 9-1-0 in their last ten games, 14-5-2 at home and 7-2-2 in divisional game.
This team has been on fire. Buffalo is 13-1-0 in their last fourteen games after a ten-game winning streak. Their offense has been steady and ranks in the middle of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game. The Sabres shooting percentage also falls in the middle of the league.
It's a different story on defense. They rank towards the bottom of the league for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. Buffalo commits almost five penalties per game, but they kill off 86% of those penalties, which is second best in the league.
In net, we're expected to see Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. He is 9-6-1 this season with a 2.63 GAA and a .904 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Panthers vs. Sabres picks.

Florida Panthers vs. Buffalo Sabres Picks and Prediction

Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin makes his move to the net against the Panthers earlier this year.

I like for Buffalo to keep rolling here. Florida has been struggling a bit this season, but I'm really leaning Buffalo because of how they're playing. No one saw this coming and no one has an answer for them as well.
It should be a good hard-fought match, which is a reason I lean to the under. Bobrovsky is a solid goaltender all around and can help keep this total go under just himself, but he's going to be tested heavy by the Sabres. It's a lean, but the line is also very juice, so I'll probably stay away.
Another play I like is for Luukkonen is get over his saves line. It should come out around 26-27 saves and we're definitely going to see 30+ from the Panthers. Their offense is definitely going to test the Sabres defense, and the Sabres offense needs to win this game for them.
Also give me Rasmus Dahlin for 3 or more shots on goal for -102. He's hit in his last two games and in four of his last six. Dahlin also had four shots vs. the Panthers earlier this year. I think it's a great spot for him to be firing from the blue line.
