Back to the Western Conference for another big Game 3. The Edmonton Oilers head to Anaheim to take on the Ducks again. These two just split the two games in Edmonton for a 1-1 series.
Edmonton looked better in Game 1 than 2 but need to step it up. They've allowed a total of 9 goals so far and you don't want to let the Ducks get hot. They've scored 8 goals themselves, but it wasn't enough to win both games at home.
They've been putting the offense on and for all game with over 30 shots on goal in each game. The Oilers have also been out hitting the Ducks which physicality is huge in the playoffs. It's on the other side of the puck that they're having their issues.
Defense needs to play better. They're up against a young and talented Ducks offense that is also fast. Edmonton also doesn't have the best goaltending, so although their offense supports the goalies, their lack of defense is terrible.
Goalie Connor Ingram is expected to get the start. It will be his third start of the series and claiming the starter role. Edmonton traded Stuart Skinner earlier this season for Tristan Jarry and he hasn't been playing.

Anaheim will look to win their first home game of the postseason

Ducks players celebrate together after forward Alex Killorn scored a goal in Game 2 vs. the Oilers.
The Ducks have had a great season for this young team. They come in with high offense, low defense and not too much experience. Either way, they're a fun team to watch and a team to be taken seriously these playoffs.
There are some good veteran guys on this team like Mikael Granlund, Chris Kreider, and Troy Terry. All have been huge pieces of the success of this team to go along with the young guns in Leo Carlsson, Cutter Gauthier and Beckett Sennecke.
On defense, they brought in veteran John Carlson and already have veteran Jacob Trouba leading the way. But defense is their weak spot, so they have to be careful. The second they don't have the offense to back of the lack of defense, the Oilers will jump all over them.
In net, we're expected to see Lukas Dostal for the third time. He has faced over 34 shots on goal in each of his last two games. Edmonton is just unloading on him. Let's check out the odds and get into the Oilers vs. Ducks Game 3 picks.

This should be another barn burner. If you take the over, pump it to over eight goals to get some value. But on the other hand, I think the Ducks come out boomin' at home and take this game.
Anaheim was 24-13-4 at home this season, which is very good. They're a better home team than the Oilers are a road team. With that shaky goaltending as well, definitely makes me lean the Ducks more. Dostal will be the X factor at home tonight.
Speaking of Dostal, we're taking over his saves line. It should be around 28 saves and Edmonton knows how to pepper the puck. They're going to want to win badly and the Ducks allow plenty of shots on goal per game. Hopefully Dostal can stop most for the sake of Anaheim winning.
