Time for a divisional west coast clash in the NHL tonight. The Vegas Golden Knights will take on the Los Angeles Kings after the Olympic break. These two teams last played at the beginning of February and the Knight won 4-1.
Los Angeles is 23-19-14 this season and fifth in the Pacific Division. They were on a three-game losing streak when the league went on break, so hopefully the time off was good to them. The Kings are 4-3-3 in their last ten games, 8-11-7 at home and 5-3-8 in divisional games.
It's been a rough go at Crypto.com Arena this year for the Kings. They just can't seem to be on the right side of things when playing at home. The team's offense has been extremely weak, ranking in the bottom of the league for goals scored, shooting percentage and power play conversion.
Their defense is much better. They rank in the top of the league for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. We should see goalie Anton Forsberg in net tonight. He's 9-7-5 this season with a 2.45 GAA and a .907 save percentage.

Vegas will try to hold on to first place as the season winds down

Knights forward Mitch Marner takes a penalty shot on Kings goalie Anton Forsberg.
The Knights are 27-16-14 this year and are first in the Pacific Division. They had won their last two games head into the break but were 3-5-2 in their last ten games. Vegas is 13-8-7 on the road and 9-4-4 in divisional games.
Their offense has been great this season, ranking in the top of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game. Their power play conversion is top five and shooting percentage is top ten. The Pacific Division is tough, but the Knight could take it.
Vegas plays a smart game, committing the least number of penalties per game. They rank third for shots on goal allowed and fourteenth for goals allowed per game. The Knights still fall in the top ten for penalty kill and they don't spend that much time on it.
In net, we should see goalie Adin Hill. He is 4-3-3 this season with a 2.92 GAA and a .870 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Knights vs. Kings picks.

Give me the Knights on the road. I think they're the better team on top of the Kings' struggles at home. It should be a good game at least, but I see the Knight coming out on top. Love even more that it's plus chicken.
Jack Eichel will come back buzzing after winning his gold medal. Hopefully he can still get along with Mitch Marner and Mark Stone after USA defeated Canada in the gold medal game. I think the Knights offense will be happy to be back together and get the job done.
For a prop, I like for Eichel to have himself a game with 4 or more shots on goal. He's riding crazy momentum that I think he carries into this game. I will also have my eyes out to see if Artemi Panarin will make his debuts for the Kings because his props will be a play.
