We go from one sunny coast to another. The Los Angeles Kings will play the Florida Panthers tonight at Amerant Bank Arena. These two teams last played at the beginning of November and the Panthers won 5-2.
Florida is 17-13-2 this season and only fifth in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on a two-game winning streak after a win over the Lightning on Monday. The Panthers are 5-4-1 in their last ten games and are 10-6-2 at home.
There has never been a shortage of offense for these guys. This year they rank eleventh in goals scored and eleventh in shots on goal per game. They are decent on the power play as well as their shooting percentage.
Defense is a different story. They are a bit leaky this season, ranking nineteenth in goals allowed per game. The defense has been clamping though, ranking sixth best for shots on goal allowed per game. To go along with it, their penalty kill is good as well.
Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is expected to get the start. He is 14-8-1 this season with a 2.80 GAA and a .888 save percentage. Bob played well vs. the Kings earlier this year and will look to replicate that performance.

Kings look to kick three game skid on second game of road trip

Kings forward Phillip Danault skates with the puck with pressure from Panthers forward Carter Verhaeghe.
The Kings are 14-9-9 to start the year and third in the Pacific Division. They come into this game on a three-game losing streak after a loss to the Stars on Monday. Los Angeles is 4-3-3 in their last ten games and are 10-3-5 this season.
Offense has been as explosive as in the past. They're ranking in the bottom of the league for goals scored and middle of the league for shots on goal per game. LA is absolutely terrible on the power play, ranking second worst in the league.
Their defense on the other hand has been great. They rank third in the league for goals allowed and eighth in shots on goal allowed per game. The Kings penalty kill is at lease better than their power play and they're committing just under four penalties per game.
In net, we're expected to see Anton Forsberg. He is 4-3-3 this season with a 2.82 GAA and a .893 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Kings vs. Panthers picks.

Looks like a great spot for Florida to keep it rolling. LA is a tough road team, but they're a little lost and I don't think they get it together vs. the two-time defending champs. It's definitely going to be a hard fought, low scoring match that Florida squeaks out at the end.
Bob is playing fantastic right now, winning his last four straight. It's going to be the case of the hot goalie for the Kings tonight. He will put up a wall against them while his defense will need to protect the shot count. If they can keep it low, they have a great chance in this game.
I like for Carter Verhaeghe to record 3 or more shots on goal. He has hit in his last eight out of nine games and is just coming off hitting after a miss. This is a good spot for him coming off a game with a goal and hitting this number vs. the Kings this year.
Another play I like is Anton Forsberg to allow 3 or more goals. His GAA is just under 3, but Forsberg three goals in his last two games and last three out of four starts. The Panthers are going to pepper the net, and I think they get the best of him.
