We head to Long Island for what should be a good game. The Los Angeles Kings are taking on the New York Islanders. These two teams met last week, and the Kings won the game 5-3.
New York is 37-23-5 this season and third in the Metro Division. They come into this game on a two-game winning streak after an overtime win over the Blues on Tuesday. The Islanders are 7-3-0 in their last ten games and 17-10-2 at home.
It's been a fun season for the Islanders. The emergence of star rookie and number one draft pick Matthew Schaefer has been unreal. His impact has been felt around the entire league. He currently is tied for the lead in goals by a defenseman with 20 goals. The kids 18 years old…
The Islanders have been resilient this year. They are 10-0-0 in overtime this season, which is a little scary, but that's ten more points they gained. If they were overtime losses, they would be on the outside looking in.
Goalie Ilya Sorokin is going to get the start tonight. He is 24-14-2 this season with a 2.50 GAA and a .913 save percentage. Sorokin had a rough start to the season but has been great since He also leads the league in shutouts.

Los Angeles will look to bounce back after overtime loss on Tuesday

Islanders forward Kyle Palmieri goes to make a move on Kings defenseman Drew Doughty.
The Kings are 26-23-15 this year and are fifth in the Pacific Division. They come into this game off a loss on Tuesday to the Bruins in overtime. Los Angeles is 3-6-1 in their last ten games and are 16-8-8 on the road.
LA has been a good road team for the past couple of years. All of the overtime losses are killing them. They had to make a move to replace the injured Kevin Fiala who went out during the Olympics, so they got Artemi Panarin. He is settling in nicely with the team and could help with the playoff push.
Their offense should produce more than they do. They rank in the bottom of the league for goals scored per game, power play conversion and shooting percentage. LA is better on defense, ranking ninth in goals allowed and twelfth in shots on goal allowed per game.
In net, we're expected to see Darcy Kuemper. He is 15-13-10 this season with a 2.58 GAA and a .897 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Kings vs. Islanders picks.

I think this should be a really good, hard-fought game. Both teams are in tight races to get in the playoffs, so they need to play smart. They should both be on their toes and playing a tight game.
We do have good goaltending on our hands we well. Both have sub 3.00 GAA's and Sorokin has been great as of late. The Islanders defense should be able to keep the Kings offense at bay with their offense that has been struggling.
Give me Bo Horvat to get 4 or more shots on goal. Bo have been great since the start of the season and when he returned from injury. Winning a silver medal in the Olympics boosted him up as well. We have to sprinkle the anytime goal too.
