Here we are at the pivotal game six, and the Knights have their backs against the wall at home. We finally got a game where one team was in control the whole game. Carolina cruised to a 4-2 win in game five to take the 3-2 series lead.
Last game got started about seven minutes in when the Knights forward Pavel Dorofeyev made it a 1-0 game. That unfortunately for Vegas would be their only lead. About five minutes later, Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal recorded his 8th goal of the playoffs and tied the game at one.

The second period was all Carolina. They took the lead in the game twelve minutes in off a power play goal from forward Andrei Svechnikov. Momentum built from there and they got another one, this time from forward Sebastian Aho, and took a 3-1 lead after two periods.
In the third, the Canes attacked the same way and got a power play goal and again from Svechnikov. Knights forward Pavel Dorofeyev also got his second goal of the night to make it a 4-2 game, but that would be all they could do. Now we head back to Vegas to see if Carolina can close it out.
Hurricanes goalie Brandon Bussi had a really solid performance in game five. He stopped 23 of the 25 shots he faced for a .920 save percentage. I think the Knights had Freddy Andersen figured out and now have a new task in front of them as Bussi has won the last two games.

Our first elimination game of the series and it's the Knights with their backs on the wall. It's been a heck of a series, but after last game, it's hard to pick against the Canes. I think they finally get the job done and win their first cup in twenty years.
Goaltender Brandon Bussi is looking like the X factor for the Canes. He looks really good vs. the Knights, who have not been able to get to him like they did Freddy Andersen. The Knights need Carter Hart to stop being so leaky and not allow 4 goals per game.
The Hurricanes are clicking right now and their captain in leading the way. Jordan Staal has eight goals these playoffs, with six of them coming in the Finals. When your leader is playing on another level, the rest of the team follows and last game we saw that.
I mean after that, you know we have to sprinkle Staal anytime goal. His 3 or more shots on goal looks nice as he's hit in his last three games of the series. There should be no slowing down for him – he has been with this team his entire career and bringing a cup back to Carolina will really punch his ticket to the HOF.
