An Eastern Conference battle tonight and we have you covered. The Philadelphia Flyers take on the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center. These two teams last played a month ago and the Sabres won 5-3.
Buffalo is 24-16-4 this season and fifth in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game off a close loss to the Panthers last night by a final score of 4-3. The Sabres are 8-2-0 in their last ten games and 14-6-2 at home.
A crazy win streak sparked this team as of late. They won nine straight and are 13-2-0 in their last fifteen games. The Sabres offense has been getting it done and rank in the middle of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game. They could use some help on the power play.
Their defense isn't very good, but again – getting it done. They rank towards the bottom of the league for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. Buffalo is committing almost five penalties per game but have the fourth best penalty kill to counter.
Goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is expected to get the start. He is 9-6-1 this season with a 2.63 GAA and a .904 save percentage. Luukkonen did not get the start last game vs. the Flyers, so a fresh face.

Philly will look to snap three-game losing streak vs. Buffalo

Flyers forward Sean Couturier dangles the puck through the Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin.
The Flyers are 22-14-8 this year and are in third place in the Metro Division. They come into this game on a three-game losing streak after a bad loss Monday to the Lightning. Philadelphia is 5-4-1 in their last ten games and 10-7-3 on the road.
Although they're on a skid, the Flyers are competing well in that tough division. They're definitely finding ways to win with how poor their offense is. Philly ranks in the bottom of the league for both goals scored and shots on goal per game.
They do play a better defensive game. The Flyers rank in the top ten for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. They play a sloppy game and commit over five penalties per game while killing off 80% of them.
In net, we're expected to see Dan Vladar. He is 16-7-4 this season with a 2.42 GAA and a .907 save percentage. Vladar has definitely found his spot in Philly after coming over from Calgary. Let's check out the odds and get into the Flyers vs. Sabres picks.

I think we see a boring game here. The Sabres has been battling and play well at home, but I think the Flyers offense will be missing. Buffalo definitely has a great chance of winning this game, but we're riding the under here.
Both goalies have had some success this season. Both are putting up sub 3.00 GAA's with over .900 save percentages. Vladar has looked really good this season and should slow the Sabres offense down. I expect the Sabres offense to be a bit peppier than the Flyers and most likely win this game.
Give me Tage Thompson to score a goal. He right now has been hitting every other game and is coming off a miss, so he's due to score again. Thompson went on a six-game goal scoring streak in December, so he's been on one.
