We're heading to Canada for this matchup. The Philadelphia Flyers will take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena. These two teams last met two months ago, and the Leafs won 2-1 in overtime.
Toronto is 27-24-9 this season and last in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on a three-game losing streak since returning from the break. The Leafs are 3-7-0 in their last ten games and 16-10-6 at home.
It's been a sad showing for this team this year. Seeing both them and the Panthers ride the bottom of the division is just mind boggling, but here we are. Their offense falls in the middle of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game.
Their defense is terrible this year. Toronto ranks fifth worst in goals allowed and allow the most shots on goal per game in the league. They play rather smart hockey, not committing too many penalties and having a strong penalty kill.
Goalie Joseph Woll is expected to start. He is 13-7-4 this season with a 2.76 GAA and a .910 save percentage. Woll didn't start the last game vs. the Flyers, so he'll be new to their offense.

Philly keeps fighting along to try and catch a wild card spot

Flyers forward Travis Konecny screens Leafs goalie Joseph Woll.
The Flyers are 27-21-11 this year and are sixth in the Metro Division. They come into this game on a two-game winning streak after a win over the Bruins on Saturday. Philly is 4-4-2 in their last ten games and are 13-12-4 on the road.
It's a tough spot to be in right now in the Eastern Conference. They are eight points out of the third spot in the Metro and eight points out of the second wild card spot. They can only do what they can control and that's just keep winning. The stars will need to align with those wins to get into the playoffs.
Their offense ranks in the bottom of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game. Their shooting percentage is one of their stronger suits while their power play is terrible. Luckily their defense is a little stronger, allowed the fourth least shots on goal per game.
In net, we're expected to see Dan Vladar. He is 17-8-6 this season with a 2.36 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Flyers vs. Leafs picks.

We could possibly have a slop show on our hands. These are two teams with struggling offenses and just ok defenses. Philly should win thing game based on how poor the Leafs are on keeping the puck out of the night.
Now, some scoring is acceptable, I don't see a 1-0 game here. They should keep it under the 6.5 mark though. Both goalies have decent GAA's that total only 5 goals allowed per game. We need a little bit of help from them to take some sweat off.
I think we see Vladar go under his saves line. It should be set around 25 saves, and he only saw 23 shots from Toronto last game. We should see a lot of the same as last game and the low shot count should follow as well.
On offense, give me Auston Matthews to get 4 or more shots on goal. He hasn't hit since returning from break, so he's due. He also had 3 vs. the Flyers last time and I think he hits the mark this game.
