Big game tonight out of the Pacific Division. The Anaheim Ducks are taking on the San Jose Sharks at the SAP Center at San Jose. These two teams last played at the end of December and the Sharks won 5-4.
San Jose is 34-31-7 this season and sixth in the Pacific Division. They come into this game on a two-game winning streak after a win over the Blues on Monday 5-4. The Sharks are 4-5-1 in their last ten games, 18-12-5 at home and 9-10-3 in divisional matchups.
This year has been all about Macklin Celebrini in San Jose. The kid became only the sixth teenage in NHL history to eclipse the 100-point mark. I personally thinking we are looking at the new face of the NHL in the years to come.
As of now, they are two points out of being tied for the second wild card spot. There is two teams in between them and that second wild card spot, so a lot going on. Every game is so important at this rate.
Goalie Yaroslav Askarov is expected to get the start. He is 20-17-3 this season with a 3.21 GAA and a .887 safe percentage. Askarov will be highly tested tonight vs. the Ducks.

Anaheim will look to widen their lead in the Pacific Division

Ducks forward Cutter Gauthier takes the puck into the offensive zone.
The Ducks are 41-28-5 this year and first in the Pacific Division. They come into this game on a two-game losing streak after an overtime loss to the Leafs on Monday. Anaheim is 5-3-2 in their last ten games, 18-18-2 on the road and 14-8-0 in divisional games.
Star forward Cutter Gauthier left Monday's game with an upper body injury. Has already been ruled out for this game and did not travel with the team. Gauthier leads the team with 65 points on the season.
This young squad has really broken out this season. Gauthier, Leo Carlsson and rookie Beckett Sennecke have a force to be reckon with this season. The addition of defenseman John Carlson from the Capitals has the deadline was huge as well.
In net, we're expected to see Lukas Dostal. He is 29-16-3 this season with a 2.92 GAA and a .894 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Ducks vs. Sharks picks.

I like for this game to be action packed. We should see a lot of offense from each team vs. their weak defenses. Even with Gauthier out, I think we see the Ducks play well vs. the Sharks broken defense.
Although the Sharks defense isn't good, neither is the Ducks and the Sharks offense should take advantage. I lean with the Sharks to win this game at home. They're feeling themselves right now and will be looking to make it three in a row.
Give me Macklin Celebrini to get 4 or more shots on goal. I also like for him to score having three goals in his last two games. He's the heart and soul of this team will need to do everything he's been doing for the Sharks to win.
