Another great series kicks off tonight. The Anaheim Ducks will face the Edmonton Oilers for a seven-game series. They played each other three times this season and Edmonton won the season series 2-1.
Anaheim went 43-33-6 this season and ended third in the Pacific Division. They ended the season on a win over the Predators on Thursday night to close the season. The Ducks were 2-6-2 in their last ten games and were 19-20-2 on the road this year.
This team of young studs really performed well this season. They led the division early in the season and other times throughout the year. Finishing third is still a huge improvement for them.
Breakout seasons from Cutter Gauthier and Leo Carlsson were big reasons for their success. At the trade deadline, they acquired defenseman John Carlson from the Washington Capitals. They also did solid between the pipes with Lukas Dostal as their starter.
Goalie Lukas Dostal has been confirmed as the starter for game one. He was 30-20-4 this season with a 3.10 GAA and a .888 save percentage. Dostal played in two of the three games this year and split 1-1.

Edmonton hungry to make it back to the finals for the third year in a row

Oilers for Connor McDavid tries to get open with Ducks defenseman Jacob Trouba on him.
Edmonton was 41-30-11 this year and ended second in the Pacific Division. They ended the season on a solid 6-1 win over the Canucks on Thursday. The Oilers finished the season 6-2-2 in their last ten game and went 22-14-5 at home this sesaon.
The Oilers are still in a great place despite missing one of their biggest pieces…who may be back. There is a possibility that Leon Draisaitl makes his return from a lower body injury which would be huge for them. Draisaitl has been out since March 15th.
Offense on this team is just sick, ranking in the top five of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game. They have the best power play in the league, so you have to play smart hockey around them. Their defense is the hole in their defense.
In net, we're expected to see Connor Ingram. He was 16-10-3 this year with a 2.60 GAA and a .899 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Ducks vs. Oilers picks.

Seems kind of cliche but I think this will be a barn burner. Their last game landed on six goals, but the other two games had eleven goals in each game. Both teams are going to come out completely buzzing and going to control the game.
Edmonton is really going to try and protect home ice. Expect Connor McDavid to be out there flying around doing Connor McDavid things. It's going to be a huge difference if Draisaitl plays, so we have to keep an eye out.
For a prop, I like Connor McDavid to get him 4 or more shots on goal. He's going to hit playoff mode and take over games. If Draisaitl plays, I like his 2 or more points because he'll probably snag two apples.
