Two teams on opposite ends of the spectrum this season faceoff. The Anaheim Ducks will take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena. This is the first of two meetings between the two this season.
Anaheim is 36-28-3 this season and are first in the Pacific Division. They come into this game off a win over the Jets on Tuesday night. The Ducks are 8-2-0 in their last ten games and 14-17-2 on the road this year.
This team started the season hot, cooled off and come right back. It's always key to get hot at the right time. Anaheim also went ahead and made a big move by trading for defenseman John Carlson from Washington. He's nursing a lower body injury but could play.
These young kids look good together. Cutter Gauthier and Leo Carlsson lead the team while rookie Beckett Sennecke has been fantastic. The addition of Carlson to along with Trouba and LaCombe will really spark this defense as well.
Goalie Lukas Dostal is expected to be in net. He's 26-14-2 this season with a 2.91 GAA and a .893 save percentage. Dostal is 11-2-0 in his last 13 starts.

Toronto most likely tanking at this point of their disappointing season

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi celebrates his goal during a road game this season.
The Leafs are 27-38-8 this year and last in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on an eight-game losing streak after another loss to Canadiens. Toronto is 2-8-0 in their last ten games and 16-18-5 at home.
It's been a rough go for the Leafs this season. They have been nothing short of terrible considering the roster they have. At this rate, they are in full blown implode and tank mode.
Their offense has not been their normal self of the past years. The team returned most of the same players with the exception of Mitch Marner too. Offense they're pretty much just mediocre and on defense…yikes.
Toronto has possibly the worst defense in the league. They allowed the third most goals per game and they allow the most shots on goal per game. They have a very good penalty kill and only commit around three to four penalties per game.
In net, we're expected to see Jospeh Woll. He is 13-11-4 this season with a 2.90 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Ducks vs. Leafs picks.

All signs point to the quack attack. Getting great value on a strong team vs. a broken team. It almost seems too good to be true and could be bait, but I'm biting. Give me the Ducks to win this game outright.
I think the offense on the Ducks will be too much for the Leafs defense. Anaheim knows how to pour it on and Toronto being almost the worst team in the league on defense just ices the cake. Could be a great opportunity for shots on goal from the Ducks here.
On that note, give me Cutter Gautier to get 4 or more shots on goal. Kid has been firing this season with 32 goals and 25 assists. He has hit the line in five of his last six game with his highest total being 9 shots on goal.
