It was a fantastic Game 1 with a wild ending. The Sabres won the game 4-3 after a huge comeback in the third period. They were down 2-0 and put up 4 unanswered goals. This was Buffalo's first playoff win in 15 years.
For the Sabres, their star Tage Thompson came to play. He had seven shots on goal with two of them being goals. Thompson also had an apple to go along with it. It took Buffalo a while to get going, but once he put them on the board, they took off.
Alex Tuch had a big game himself. Not only did he have a goal and an assist with four shots on goal, but Tuch laid ten bodies. Talk about being an absolute unit and just mucking guys. Mattias Samuelsson had nine himself as well. Just crushing guys.
Buffalo completely out played Boston in shots and hits. The Sabres put up double digit shot totals in all three periods and over fifty hits. Boston is going to need to up the offense and get more physical to compete.
In net, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is expected to start again. He is 1-0-0 in the playoffs with a 3.05 GAA and a .850 save percentage. Luukkonen only faced 20 total shots, so he needs to tighten up to support that offense.

Boston needs to start holding the line after blowing lead in Game 1

Sabres forward Tage Thompson gets wrapped up with Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm.
It was just a matter of time before the Sabres offense woke up last game. Boston held them for a good portion of the game, but they didn't protect Swayman. Defense isn't their strong suit, so they need to put up more offense.
Considering they're not very good on defense, they get the credit for holding the Sabres as long as they did. Both teams will be watching tape of that to make their adjustments. Boston really let Buffalo put up a lot of shots and need to protect the goalie better.
In net, we're expected to see Jeremy Swayman. He's going to need that defensive help we talked about even though he looked good in Game 1. Let's check out he odds and get into the Bruins vs. Sabres Game 2 picks.

This should be a different game than the first. What happened in the third period of Game 1 is not sustainable if you're the Bruins. I think we see adjustments made, especially between the pipes, and this game goes under.
Both teams have the talent on both ends of the ice, and a chess match is in order after the barn burner. They both need to play smarter hockey with seven penalties combined last game. Only one was converted out of seven and it was the Bruins.
Give me Jeremy Swayman over his saves line. He got absolutely peppered last game, seeing 37 shots. The line should come up just south of 30 and I don't see why it doesn't happen again.
