A familiar matchup that we love to see. The Boston Bruins will head south to take on the Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena. These two teams met once already back in the beginning of the season and the Panthers won 4-3.
Boston is 32-20-4 this season and fifth in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game off a shootout loss to the Lightning on Sunday. The Bruins are 7-1-2 in their last ten games, 11-12-3 on the road and 9-8-1 in divisional matchups.
They have secured at least one point in their last six games, going 4-0-2. The offense has come around, ranking in the top seven of the league for goals scored, power play conversion and shooting percentage. Boston doesn't shoot a lot per game, but that shooting percentage makes up for it.
On defense, they need some work. They rank in the bottom of the league in shots on goal allowed, penalty kill and penalties committed per game. The Bruins do not play smart hockey, committing the most penalties per game in the league. This bit them in the butt the other night after the blew a four-goal lead vs the Lightning.
Goalie Jeremey Swayman is expected to get the start. He is 22-12-3 this season with a 2.87 GAA and a .903 save percentage. Swayman is 3-1-1 in his last five starts.

Florida needs to break losing streak at home tonight

Panthers players Sam Bennett and Carter Verhaeghe celebrate with teammates after scoring a goal.
The Panthers are 28-24-3 this year and currently last in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on a four-game losing streak after another loss to the Sabres on Monday. Florida is 4-6-0 in their last ten games, 14-13-3 at home and 5-8-1 in divisional play.
This team has been hit by the injury bug all year. They lost Aleksander Barkov at the beginning of the season and also started the season without Matthew Tkachuk. Currently, Sam Bennett, Anton Lundell and Brad Marchand are all questionable for this game.
Not the team we're used to seeing this season. They are struggling on offense, ranking in the bottom of the league for goals scored, power play conversion and shooting percentage. Florida is firing the puck but not getting the results they're looking for.
On defense, they clamp the opposing offense on shots on goal. Like Boston, they don't play smart hockey and commits a lot of penalties but backs it up with a good penalty kill that ranks seventh in the league.
In net, we're expected to see Daniil Tarasov. He is 8-7-2 this year with a 2.61 GAA and a .904 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Bruins vs. Panthers picks.

You know I love plus money and they're giving us the better team right now. Boston has been playing really good hockey and climbed the standings. They currently hold the second wild card spot and have the chance to continue to climb with the close standings.
With them having almost more to play for, I like them even on the road. Florida hasn't defended home ice very well this season, so the Bruins could take advantage of that also. These two teams hate each other, so expect to see a dog fight.
I like David Pastrnak to get 4 or more shots on goal. He is coming off a 5 shot game and has cleared the line in his last two out of three and four of his last six games. Pasta also hit the line in the game back in October.
Another play I like is for Jeremy Swayman to get over his saves line. The Panthers fire the puck and the Bruins allow over 30, so this should be a good one. The line should be around 27-28 saves and there will be well over 30 shots from Florida.
