It's time to wrap up the year 2025 and what better way than with some stick and puck. The Boston Bruins will take on the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place. These two teams last met two weeks ago, and the Oilers won 3-1.
Boston is 20-18-2 this year and seventh in the Atlantic Division. They come into this game on a six-game losing streak after an overtime loss to the Flames on Monday. The Bruins are 3-5-2 in their last ten games and 8-10-1 on the road this season.
The team hasn't been the same since trading then captain Brad Marchand. Their offense has been suffering and ranks in the bottom of the league for goals scored and shots on goal per game. Boston's power play and shooting percentage are in the top ten of the league.
Their defense hasn't been very good either. The Bruins rank in the bottom of the league for goals allowed and shots on goal allowed per game. They don't play smart hockey, committing almost seven penalties per game on average. Killing off only 80% of their penalties isn't the best either.
Goalie Jeremy Swayman is expected to start. He is 14-10-2 this season with a 2.87 GAA and a .903 save percentage. Swayman signed a large contract with Boston last season to cement himself as the starter.

Edmonton will try to make it two in a row tonight at home

Edmonton Oilers right winger Quinn Hutson celebrates his first NHL goal vs. the Bruins earlier this year.
The Oilers are 20-14-6 this season and first in the Pacific Division. They come into this game off a win over the off a win over the Jets on Monday. Edmonton is 7-3-0 in their last ten games and are 10-3-3 at home.
Edmonton is obviously known for their explosive offense. They rank in the top ten of the league for goals scored per game, power play percentage and shooting percentage. The Oilers rank thirteenth for shots on goal per game, but they make those shots count.
They've never been known for having the best defense, especially not good goaltending. Edmonton ranks in the bottom of the league for goals allowed but are eleventh in shots on goal allowed. They're keeping the shots from the goalie, but he's not stopping the ones coming through.
In net, we're expected to see Connor Ingram. He is 2-1-0 this season with a 2.36 GAA and a .915 save percentage. Let's check out the odds and get into the Bruins vs. Oilers picks.

Give me the Oilers to crush tonight. The Bruins are beaten down as it is, and this is not a bounce back spot for them. Edmonton has such a good offense and plays great at home. We should see an Oilers victory by 2 or more.
The Oilers offense should run circles around the Bruins. Boston really needs to play smart because Edmonton will take advantage of every power play they're given. It could really be the difference in the game if the Oilers get four power plays and convert three of them.
Give me Connor McDavid to continue his crazy season. I'll be taking his 2 or more points for -140 and his 3 or more points for +240. The power play is a big reason I'll be laddering here because he could really rack up the points if they get a lot of power play opportunities.
I think the Oilers pepper Swayman. Give me over his saves line that should come out around 25 saves. The Oilers has 25 shots against him last game and I think we see well over 30 shots this game to clear the line.
