We have a good one on our hand's boys and girls. The Minnesota Wild will host the red-hot Colorado Avalanche at the Grand Casino Arena. These two teams last met at the end of last month and the Wild won the game 3-2 in a shootout.

Colorado is 25-2-7 this season and first in the Central Division. They come into this game on a four-game winning streak and after a win over the Jets on Friday. The Avs are 8-1-1 in their last ten games, 11-2-5 on the road and 5-0-4 in divisional play.

The offense on this team is just sick. Between the Nathan MacKinnon, Martin Necas and Cale Makar – these is no shortage here. They rank best in the league for both goals scored and shots on goal per game.

Defensively, they kill it as well. Just like offense, they are the best in the league for goals allowed per game. Their power play is not very good, but their penalty kill is second best. Colorado is third best in penalties per game which helps that penalty kill.

Goalie Mackenzie Blackwood is expected to start. He has been a stud this season going 10-1-1 so far with a 2.26 GAA and a .920 save percentage. Goaltending has been a huge key to this defense and the team's success.

New look Minnesota will look to take down Colorado again

Filip Gustavsson and Quinn Hughes

Minnesota Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson and defenseman Quinn Hughes celebrate a win together.

The Wild are 22-9-5 this year and third in the Central Division. They come into this game on an impressive seven-game winning streak after another win yesterday vs. the Oilers. Minnesota is 8-2-0 in their last ten games, 13-3-4 at home and 6-2-1 in divisional play.

There was a big shake up for the Wild this past week with the acquisition of star defenseman Quinn Hughes via trade. The former Norris Trophy winner is an absolute stud and going to really shine on team while hopefully getting a chance to play for a cup run.

Their offense if top notch with guys like Kirill Kaprisov, Matt Boldy and Joel Eriksson Ek. They only rank in the middle of the league for goals scored and shots on goa per game. Minnesota shoots decently and also have the eighth best power play in the league.

Goaltending has been a bright spot for the Wild. They rank second, behind Colorado, for goals allowed per game. Minnesota does allow a lot of shots on goal and doesn't have the best penalty kill which could become a problem.

In net, we will see Jesper Wallstedt. He is 10-1-2 this season with a 1.96 GAA and a .936 save percentage. Wallstedt also has four shutouts to go with his impressive numbers. Let's check out the odds and get into the Avalanche vs. Wild picks.

We have two teams who are red-hot and have great goaltending. I think we see a huge chess match here and a hard-fought game. Both of these goalies are going to come to play and that's why I like the under here.

Both teams rank in the top of the league for goals allowed per game. The defenses are going to try and really clamp down on the opposing offenses. I also think both teams may play a little bit of a slower, defensive game knowing their opponents' capabilities.

Give me Kirill Kaprisov for 4 or more shots on goal for +165. He's coming off a six-shot performance and had cleared the line in three of his last four games. Kaprisov went nuclear the last game they played, scoring two goals on four shots on goal.

I also like Wild goalie Jesper Wallstedt to get over his saves line. The line should come out around 28-30 saves once confirmed for around -120 value. Colorado put up 41 shots last month vs. him and only three of the shots were in overtime.
