We've got another Monday Night Football doubleheader on ESPN, as the Tennessee Titans take on the Miami Dolphins and the Detroit Lions host the Seattle Seahawks! Both games should be very exciting, so be sure to check out Varun's preview of the AFC Showdown.
I'll take you on a deeper dive into this NFC matchup as Jared Goff and Geno Smith go head to head in Ford Field tonight. The Seahawks are somehow 3-0 to start the season, and I'm sure they are probably just as surprised as the rest of us. Seattle took down the Broncos in Week 1, handled business against New England in Week 2, and took down a very beat up Dolphins team last week, starting 3-0 for the first time since 2020.
As for the Lions, they are 2-1 in after winning the NFC North last year. The Lions took down the Rams in OT in Week 1, but dropped their next game at home to the Buccaneers. Detroit rallied and took down the Cardinals in the desert to improve to 2-1 on the season, and now host the undefeated Seahawks.
Will Seattle and Geno roll into Detroit and steal a win? Or will Goff and the Lions send the Seahawks packing with their first loss of the season?

Lions Look for Home Win on MNF
Can the Lions string together a second consecutive win?
The Lions have not looked up to their new standard this season, but they are still 2-1. They won a very difficult game in Week 1, and took down a red hot Arizona Cardinals team on the road. In between, they lost one at home to the Buccaneers, but Tampa Bay is sitting at 3-1 this season. The point is, Detroit has all the pieces to have plenty of success, yet they are dealing with a bit of a Division Title hangover. I'm sure the entire city of Detroit expected them to be 3-0 coming into this game, with an easy win on the schedule. But that is not the case at all.
The Seahawks might be a surprising 3-0, but they are undefeated no less. Sure, they may have lucked out by facing a Tua-less Dolphins team in Miami last week, but so far they've handled business. Now, they aren't blowing teams out of the water. The beat Denver by just 6, and New England by just 3 on the road, but this will certainly be the best offense they have faced all year. The Lions have the skill players and quarterback to tear apart this Seahawks' secondary. So far, these are the QBs Seattle has faced this year.

Scream it from the mountain tops, the Seahawks defense hasn't played ANYBODY. And tonight they try to stop a Dan Campbell led offense at home, coming off a game where they were finally somewhat clicking offensively. This game has Detroit domination written all over it in my eyes, and I see the Lions coming to play.

Do your line shopping as always, but I have once again backing Detroit to score. We took their full game TT over 26.5 against the Cardinals and came up a touchdown short. But tonight at home, against a team that has not been tested defensively at all, I think Detroit comes out firing on all cylinders.
Seattle allowed both Denver and New England to put up 13 points in the first half of their matchups. I hope I don't need to explain to you that the Lions offense is better than both of these squads. Miami only scored 3 all game, but they came in the 1st quarter, and Miami's offense is clearly nothing without Tua. As for Detroit, they have no problem moving the ball in bunches with their skill players, and I see them starting hot tonight at home.
Detroit scored 10 in the first half week 1, just 6 against the Buccaneers, but scored all 20 of their points against Arizona in the first half. I do not want to be burned again by their full team total, and do have a little faith in the Seahawks to make defensive adjustments in the 2nd half. However, I think the Lions are more than capable of scoring touchdowns on their two opening drives, hopefully knocking down the PAT, and cashing this bet early for us.
