Detroit Lions

Tucker Kraft

The Detroit Lions are going to be in this article a lot this year. The team ranks 26th in points allowed, 27th in opponent redzone efficiecy, 19th in opponent yards per play and dead last in pass yards allowed.

The defense has been incredibly bad and even more so in the redzone. Detroit is giving up the 2nd most redzone attempts per game to their opponents, they are allowing opponents to convert 72% of those attempts into touchdowns and a majority of them have come through the air.

The Lions have struggled against opposing TEs this year, giving up a league high 10 touchdowns to the position and nearly 100 yards per game.

The good news for the Lions is that this Vikings offense, despite being the only undefeated team in the NFL; is dead last in redzone conversion rate. The team is converting just 50% of their redzone trips into touchdowns and when you leave that many points on the table; it becomes a problem.

The Lions have a top-5 offense this year, they rank 2nd in redzone conversion rate and they will put up points. Will Minnesota be able to respond?

  • 65% Route Share
  • 57% Snap Share
  • 29% 1st Read Target Share
  • 6 Redzone Targets
  • 2 Endzone Targets

Arizona Cardinals & Dallas Cowboys

Arizona Cardinals

This game is tied for the highest total on the week and it's because of how these two defenses have been. The Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys both rank in the bottom-10 for points allowed, opponent redzone efficiency, pass yards allowed and opponent yards per play.

The Cowboys are allowing 3.9 redzone attempts per game and allowing opponents to convert 70% of those trips into touchdowns. The problem for Arizona is they stink in the redzone.

The Cardinals are converting just 43% of their redzone trips into touchdowns and thats the worst mark in the league. Defensively it hasn't been any better. The Cards are also allowing opponents to convert 70% of their redzone trips into touchdowns and this Cowboys offense is potent.

Dallas has the 3rd best redzone conversion rate in the NFL, converting 74% of their redzone trips into touchdowns and rank 3rd in redzone scoring opportunities per game.

Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins got their first win of 2026 last week and now they host the red hot New England Patriots down in Florida.

The Dolphins rank 25th in points allowed, 19th in opponent redzone efficiency, 31st in opponent 3rd down conversion rate and 25th in opponent yards per play.

Miami's defense is giving up the 5th highest explosive play rate, they don't force turnovers and they just don't get off the field on 3rd down. The defensive unit's been bad all around and this Patriots team is coming into this one off extended rest.

The Patriots have scored 24+ points in 4 straight games and Drake Maye's thrown multiple touchdowns in all 4 games. Maye's averaging 299.8 pass yards per game in these 4 games, he's completing 67% of his passes, he's thrown 12 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions.

Lastly, Maye's played just 3 career games against Miami. In these 3 games, Maye's averaging 214.3 pass yards per game, he's thrown 4 touchdowns and just 1 interception.

Las Vegas Raiders

Maxx Crosby

The Las Vegas Raiders defense has fallen off a cliff and I don't see how it gets any better this week in the Big Apple.

The Raiders rank 28th in points allowed, 30th in opponent redzone efficiency, 29th in opponent 1st downs and 29th in opponent yards per play. The defense has struggled to contain the run, allowing 143.6 rush yards per game (30th) and giving the most yards per carry in the NFL (5.2).

Las Vegas is allowing opponents to convert 79% of their redzone trips into touchdowns, they are giving up the 3rd most red zone trips per game (4.0) and they've now given up 27+ points in 5 straight games.

Mason Taylor in the Redzone:

  • 2 Endzone Targets
