The Colts host the Jaguars this week, fresh off of being eliminated from the postseason. The Jags look to secure their hold on the AFC South with a win in Indianapolis and I'm sure Philip Rivers and the Colts would love to play spoiler.

Analysis & Breakdown

Free Fall

After winning 7 of their first 8 games to start the year, the Colts have now dropped six of their last seven games. Daniel Jones is done for the year and Philip Rivers came up off the couch to start two games for the Colts. Rivers threw for 277 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception in the team's most recent game against San Francisco, completing 65.7% of his passes and finishing with a passer rating of 97.0.

Rivers has now thrown for 397 total yards this year, adding to his career total of 63,440 pass yards, for a total of 63,837 pass yards. Rivers currently sits 6th on the all time passing yards list and just 251 yards behind Ben Roethlisberger for 5th all time. Rivers might not get a chancce to finish the year in Week 18 and this might be the one chance he has to move into the top five.

Defensively the Colts haven't been great. The team ranks 18th in points allowed, 26th in opponent third down conversion rate and 31st in opponent pass yards. On the offensive side the Colts rank 6th in points, 2nd in redzone efficiency and 5th in yards per play. The offense has been great, even when it's Rivers under center.

Big Cats

The Jaguars are 11-4, 1st in the AFC South and it's all starting to come together for Head Coach Liam Coen. Coen's team is averaging 27.3 points per game (7th), 11th in redzone efficiency and 15th in pass yards. Trevor Lawrence has looked great, averaging 232.6 pass yards per game with 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

In the month of December, Lawrence has been on fire. He's averaging 284.3 pass yards per game here with 10 touchdowns and no interceptions. The Jags are undefeated in these three games but have also won 7 of their last 8 games overall. The offense is moving the ball well and the defense continues create big plays and good field position for the offense.

Jacksonville ranks 10th in points allowed, 1st in rush yards allowed and 2nd in forced turnovers. The Jaguars addition of Jakobi Meyers is proving to be vital for this offense and he's made a big splash since getting to Jacksonville right close to the trade deadline.

Sunday's Best Bets

Jakobi Meyers 059.5 Receiving Yards (-103) | Lucky Rebel

Like I said, Jakobi Meyers has been absolutely vital for this Jaguars offense. Meyers is averaging 57.1 receiving yards per game since joining the Jaguars and leads the team in target share. He's got three touchdowns since coming to Jacksonville and thats three more than he had with the Raiders.

The Colts have struggled defending the pass and I think Meyers is in prime position to take advantage. The Colts are 31st in receiving yards given up to wide receivers and this week with Meyers in town, I'm expecting him to have a big game. Meyers has cleared this line in three of of his last six games but has recorded 6+ targets in six straight games.

Last week Meyers and Lawrence connected on just 50% of his targets and I'm expecting a significant jump this year.
