After the Houston Texans took care of the Chicago Bears on Sunday night, they now head to Minnesota to face the Vikings in Week 3. The Vikings have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2024 NFL season, starting 2-0 with wins over the Giants and the 49ers. While the win against the 49ers is particularly notable, Minnesota will look to build on that momentum at home against the rising Texans.

Texans vs Vikings Predictions
The Stank:
Minnesota is continuing to surprise the nation with their impressive early-season success, highlighted by a 23-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers at home as four-and-a-half-point underdogs.
The Vikings amassed over 400 total yards against one of the NFL's top defenses, while their defense limited the 49ers—despite the absence of Christian McCaffrey—to just 17 points. The 49ers' offensive line remains one of the league's best, but Minnesota's pass rush was relentless, sacking quarterback Brock Purdy six times.
Given the significance of this win for Minnesota, I anticipate some regression as they head into Week 3. While I don't expect a blowout, it's unlikely that the Vikings will remain undefeated after facing both the 49ers and the Texans.
After watching the Houston Texans thoroughly dominate the Bears on Sunday night, I will be backing them once again in Week 3. Despite committing 12 penalties for 115 yards and allowing the Bears a late chance to make a comeback, the Texans should have won by a larger margin, as I suggested in this game's write up.

Houston excelled both in the air and on the ground, accumulating over 300 total yards, averaging nearly four yards per carry, and passing for more than 250 yards. Despite the Bears managing to score an offensive touchdown, rookie quarterback Caleb Williams was under relentless pressure and was sacked seven times. If the Texans' defense can apply the same level of pressure to Sam Darnold in Week 3, they should have no trouble securing a victory. With a week to address their mistakes and regroup, I believe the Texans are well-positioned to come out on top.
