It's time for a new era in the Big Apple and John Harbaugh feels like the perfect guy to help lead that charge. The Giants parted ways with Brian Daboll midway through last year, eventually handing over the interim coaching duties to Joe Judge. Judge was merely a placeholder and as the season came to an end so did his time as the Giants' Head Coach.
New York fired Daboll on November 10th, directly following a complete collapse against the Chicago Bears. When that happened, Harbaugh and the Ravens were three games into a five game win streak. I don' think anyone thought, at least when it happened, that when Daboll was fired; Harbaugh would be his replacement.
Now with a new coaching staff, the 5th overall pick in this year's draft and a ton of young talent; the Giants might be ready to compete. Let's jump into some 'way too early' Giants props and see if we can find some value.

Young Guns
The Giants are equipped with a ton of young talent across the board. Jaxson Dart looked great in his limited starts last year and the same goes with rookie Cam Skattebo. Dart started 12 games for the Giants last year, recording 2,272 passing yards, 15 touchdown passes, 5 interceptions and 9 rushing touchdowns. This was just 12 career starts and he did it without his No. 1 wide receiver; Malik Nabers.
Skattebo had played eight games for the Giants before suffering a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle. He averaged 51.3 rush yards per game, scored 7 touchdowns and averaged 3.0 catches per game. In the month of October, Skatt played four games with an increased share of touches; he averaged 84.6 yards from scrimmage per game and scored 5 of his 7 touchdowns in these games.
Now let's talk about the Giants talented young receiver, Malik Nabers. Nabers played just four games last year, averaged 67.8 yards per game and scored 2 touchdowns. His season ended due to a torn ACL against the Chargers in Week 4 but prior to that he was seeing 10+ targets a game.
That game against the Chargers was Dart's first start of his career and Nabers was hurt in the first quarter. We never got to see the connection between these two and next year I'm excited to see what they can do.
Mean Machine
Defensively the Giants have a ton of great pieces, but last year they looked terrible. Up front on the defensive line, names like Abdul Carter, Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns strike fear in opposing offensive lines; but last year they just looked bad. Head Coach John Harbaugh's put together quite the staff and it starts with Defensive Co-ordinator Dennard Wilson.
Wilson served as the defensive co-ordinator for the Titans last year and he's worked with Harbaugh before as a defensive backs coach for the Ravens. He's been coaching in the NFL since 2012, mainly serving a a defensive backs coach before getting his first job as a DC last year with Tennessee.
The Giants were desperate for a new voice in the locker room and that was twice as important on the defensive side.
Schedule
New York will have the 17th toughest schedule in the NFL, according to last year's records. The schedule isn't out yet but the list of opponents New York will play is. Outside of six tough divisional games, the Giants will play the Lions, Rams, Texans, 49ers. Jaguars and the reigning Super Bowl Champs.
Some of their easier opponents include the Saints, Titans, Browns and Cardinals. The Saints ended 2025 on a high note, the Titans, Browns and Cardinals all have brand new coaching staffs. With so much up in the air and the fact the Giants play in such a tough division; it's hard for me to see them climb over this 8.5 total wins line.
The juice toward the under feels gross but it's definitely the way to go with New York; even though they did just add a Harbaugh.
