USC vs Washington Predictions
Hot. Corn. Bull. Doesn’t matter what kind of dog—I love them all. This week it’s two dogs in one: the Washington Huskies as underdogs. Give me the hometown team and the points.
Washington is back after two tough road losses: a 40-16 loss in Iowa City and a 31-17 loss in Bloomington, Indiana. Now they’re returning home to Seattle, ready to host the Trojans, who just came off a 42-20 win over a struggling Rutgers team. Despite last week’s loss to Indiana, Washington hung in there, moving the ball well against a strong defense before turnovers ruined their chances.
I’m not sold on USC. That Rutgers win? They took down a team that had been outscored by 77 points at home across two games before traveling across the country to face a USC team fresh off a tough loss to Maryland. That matchup was always going to be double digits in favor of the Trojans.
Beyond that, Washington is in a classic sandwich spot: coming off a game against No. 13 Indiana and set to face No. 3 Penn State in Happy Valley next week. They need this win, with Penn State on the road, then UCLA at home, and No. 1 Oregon to close out the year.
The Huskies have been lights out at home, allowing just 10.3 points per game. USC may be known for their passing game, but Washington is the top-ranked pass defense in the country, holding teams to under 100 yards per game at home. Their defense should keep the Trojans in check and make this a close one.
Give me the Huskies and the points.
