I will have a prop piece out later this week, as well as some individual articles on some of the bigger matchups, but for now, here's what I'm eyeing for some NCAA Football this weekend!
James Madison @ Marshall
Matchup Information
- Venue & Location: Joan C. Edwards Stadium (Huntington, WV)
- Date: Thursday, October 19th, 2023
- Kick Off: 7:00pm Eastern
- Broadcast: ESPN
The Pick: JMU/Marshall over 49.5 (-110) Bovada
These offenses are electric.
James Madison scores 33.8 points per game, and moves the ball for nearly 400 yards (391.6), ranking 25th and 58th in FBS Football. Marshall is right behind them.
The Thundering Herd score 32.2 points per game, and rack up 422.4 yards per game, ranking 33rd and 39th.
Now, on the defensive side. Both squads allow over 380 yards of offense per game, ranking 60th and 62th in the nation. Marshall allowed over 30 points per game, while JMU gives up over 24.
I lean with the Dukes, but I think we see a shootout, so gimme this to soar over 50 points.
Central Florida @ #6 Oklahoma

- Date: Saturday, October 21st, 2023
- Kick Off: 12:00pm Eastern
- Broadcast: ABC
The Pick: Oklahoma -18.5 (-110) Bovada
It's worth noting, I am 5-0 +6u betting on games involving the Sooners this year, so tread lightly as always.
Ultimately, I think Oklahoma is light years ahead of UCF, and coming off a bye week after a huge win, the Sooners know they could make the College Football Playoff.
I think they are way too explosive for UCF to stop, and in front of a rowdy home crowd, I think we see UCF struggle on the road once again.
The Knights have lost both conference road games this year, getting outscored 95-53. They are still searching for their first Big 12 conference win, but it's not happening on Saturday.
Sooners by three scores.
Virginia @ #10 North Carolina

The Pick: North Carolina 1Q TT over 9.5 (+115) Bovada
Getting super cute here for plus money, I think the Tar Heels could get a couple quick scores.
North Carolina scores in bunches and moves the ball extremely efficiently.
Virginia allowed two 1Q scores to William & Mary just last week. The Tar Heels will certainly turn one of those FG opportunities into a touchdown. The Cavaliers even allowed 17 1Q points to James Madison in Week 2.
North Carolina has scored a touchdown in 5 out of 6 first quarters this year.
I like them to get off to a hot start at home against a bad Virginia team.
